Those were some incredibly well explained lessons. You got a knack for wording things in a way that's understandable. This was obviously a windy day, but you might consider having a drone follow you while you do the tutorials. I was dying to see how steep the terrain truly was! If you don't have a Drone, check out the skydio 2. We love ours.

I have a road riding friend who thinks we are wimps for wanting a soft clutch and says that a Yamaha cable clutch is really soft and doesn't need to be any softer. I think this video shows very clearly why we need soft clutches.

Another fantastic video, Rich! I've found pulling the clutch in all the way is a really hard habit to break, especially for those of us who ride on the street and spend a good amount of time at stop lights. Now I start practicing finding the engagement point, holding a steady throttle and just giving minimal amounts of clutch as my first drill when I get back on the dirt.

I would love to see how experienced riders deal with high speed riding on very sandy and sometimes deep roads/trails and on washboard roads and trails. Are these fast riders somehow limiting the amount of the rear tire left and right oscillation (swing), or have they just trained to become used to the feeling? What about riding on washboard roads? If you could show what the riders knees, feet and rear tire actually looks like in this type of riding it would be fantastic. If you could have a rider behind you filming your rear wheel at the same time that would be even better. Keep up the good work. Oh yea. My next set of tires will be IRC. I have investigated reviews from other riders and I am convinced I need to try these.

Love it Rich! Your an animal!! So how about clutch setup? That’s obviously not the stock beta clutch lever. Is it like a ARC that is supposed to help with clutch pull? Also it seems you have it adjusted to engage pretty far away from the bar? I was surprised to see how little you were moving like you said but also surprised to see you go from 4 finger pull in when stopped to the middle finger when starting. I think I’m always just pointer finger. Maybe this would help with my fatigue. Thanks Rich! Love it

Rich, can you offer your opinion on 4t for the type of riding you do? I see all your bikes are 300 2t enduros. Could a 500 XCF-W / EXC-F or any other brand of 450/500 Enduro spec bike replace your 300 2t? I saw that video you had a while back interviewing pro riders on their 2t/4t preferences. Seemed like the 4t was generally preferred for Endurocross and 2t for harder technical trials like riding. Maybe your next bike for the channel could be a 4t. Thanks for all the great vids and take care.

Looks pretty flat (damn cameras). 3:40 out front looks flat, but off to right the real angle gets shown, then 3:50 looks pretty flat, but then the side angle at 4:10 shows a little of how steep it really is. Too bad as the cameras get better and better they still are not able to properly show how steep something is. Having the two cameras is great, seeing the calm control on the clutch very helpful. Keep making these videos, despite your advanced riding skill you still can point out the stuff that really helps us mortal weekend warriors.

Not necessarily related to the topic, but how long have you been running that wrist brace? I'm going with the same, but am concerned about it limiting movement in the technical stuff. Although part of me thinks it might even force better body positioning when over the bars.

Hey Rich, what clutch lever do you use? Right now I am using a Midwest Mountain Engineering lever. That lever is designed to reduce the force required to pull the lever, but they have you adjust the lever pull so you pull it all the way to the bar to disengage the clutch. Any thoughts on this vs the way yours is set up?
@IRCTireUSAMoto2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I run a stock shaped lever. These or Offgrid Syndicate break away levers. They are very similar to stock but also have a break away. I don’t like the Midwest because the engagement is too far in. I prefer the friction zone out further.
