💅✋Hard Gel on Myself using my Non-Dominant Hand✋💅

Good morning KZbin!! Welcome to the Kirsty Meakin Channel! ;D
Today I'm going to be doing my very own nails, ill be using my non-dominant hand and working on my urrm... dominant hand.
I'll start by stripping the product that's already on my nails by using medium grit sanding band on my mandrill bit when the bulk of the product is off ill switch out to a fine sanding band. Then I'm going to do some cuticle work so switching my E-file across to the cuticle bit. Next up I’ll take a 240 grit file and file the free edge.
Now let us create some beautiful nails!! I'm going to be using the Nail GaGa Pro Nail System today
Ill size up my tips and clean my nails using Nail Perfect's Blue Scrub and then stick my tips on using WowBao's Nail Glue. Now I'm going to use a pair of straight nail clippers to take down the length and then using a 180 grit file I’ll blend the tips in and file the free edge of my tips and matte the nail.
Now ill prime my BrenDek brush by running it through the product put some isopropanol alcohol in a dappen dish, then using a spatula I'm going to take some of this beautiful Nailgaga Profile Acrygel Twinkle Cover and pop that onto my nail using the IPA on my brush to make sure it won't stick when you're happy with the shape cure it for 40 seconds give it a little pinch and pop it back in for 30 seconds, then ill do the same on my other nails.
Now ill-use Nail Perfects Blue Scrub to take off the sticky layer and file the nails into shape starting with sharpening up the sidewalls then ill straighten up the free edge and then file around the cuticle with the rounded side of the file, next up we will file the length of the nail and then marry it all together.
To finish these nails off I'm going to topcoat them with the Nailgaga glossy finishing gel and then cure, now I’ll use cuticle oil, and I'm using my favorite today Indigo Shea Elixir Drama Queen, and look how beautiful they are!! I love them!

Acrylgel isn’t a UK name for the product just like polygel isn’t an American name for the product, it’s dependent on brand

@@abigailxmary I think acrygel is the name of the product, as it's something that gets quite hard, sturdy like acrylic but is in a gel before curing. So properties of both, hence the name. Polygel is a brand, a big and famous name in some countries, so lots of people call it that.

The glitter has nothing to do with it. It's the amount of product. I use acrygel all the time, but mostly with a base coat, and I noticed that it burns more when you use a thicker layer of basecoat or no base, just a thick layer of acrygel, that's always thick because you need to create an apex and some thickness for strength. Uv curing is a exothermic reaction, meaning that for it to go from fluid to hard, it emits heat, so the more product, the more heat. I also usually use clear on myself, as I like to see the colour through the nail on the underside. It burns just the same, no matter the color or glitter.

Love the color❤❤❤ When you haven't the low set in your lamp you can actually turn it on and put your hand in the light coming out of the lamp but not inside... just right in the opening but not inside.. the gel will start curing slower, after about 15/20 seconds you start getting closer until you are inside the lamp, hope could help someone✌🏻✌🏻

here in Canada we are still in lockdown and Stay at Home order. Hoping June 2 we can come out of stay at home order and June 20 we hope salons will be open again. I heard with gel to put it into lamp about 7 to 10 seconds, then take it out for a few seconds and put back in the lamp. It does work pretty well for the heat spike. I'm ambidextrous and do my own nails(with a hand file & $6 acrylic from dollar general only), I actually learned a lot from you but I would love to have you do my nails. I would let you do anything you want any length, design,etc.

I didn't start out ambidextrous but 30+ years of being a nail tech and doing my own nails weekly, it was just a natural progression. I guess it doesn't happen to everyone so I feel lucky that I can use both hands for everything, even writing.

I mostly use my right hand though being that I got so used to it but being able use of my left equally sure comes in handy sometimes like doing my nails for example

the time when the heat spike comes is actually a good guide for when to pinch gel, obviously u don’t want to wait for the heat spike before u take it out to pinch, but if u notice how many seconds u get before the heat spike then u can take it out right before and pinch the nail

Does the burning sensation come from not having the base coat? This feeling usually happens to me when getting gel-x nails if the base gel comes out too far under my nail and gets under my natural nail.

Kirst- try using a thinner base gel as the nail liquid/ slip solution; I really like it. Not every brand is the best fit for that but the soft hybrid materials are best and that looks perfect 👌 for it! You can get the surface so much smoother your filing will be cut in half. Loved your nails as always!!!
