Thank you for taking and posting this excellent video. I was the Captain on this flight, and things got very interesting very quickly when our right engine failed inflight. Planted the landing! Good job. The truth is that often times in emergency situations or if on a short field the pilot will intentionally make a "firm" landing so as to eliminate the possibility of the aircraft floating on flare. They wanted to have as much surface available for braking and a go around was not an option.

Much better camcorder quality! Do you find the files are much bigger now they film in 50fps? Awesome video mate, incredible catch of this emergency! Pretty scare to watch, must have been a little tense to film I imagine! Liked.
@DanielSander9 жыл бұрын
Mraviationguy Thanks Archie :-) I in fact find the files smaller compared to a DSLR. AVCHD is a much better format to MP4 takes slightly longer to render, slightly smaller and quicker to upload. 50FPS does make a difference, however Batteries are a pain to source. Overall around £400 to £500 well spent.

also, the starboard engine's thrust reverser was not engaged during landing.
@neapolis69199 жыл бұрын
maninthecab Ok. I didn't realize those engines would rotate that easily. Seems like a lot of compressor wheels would resist rotation from a breeze. Is the fan on this engine not connected to the main Turbine shaft?
