Join the Hard Questions panel as discuss creation: is there a gap in scripture between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2? Was there a pre-Adamic race? Are we to view creation as a literal six days? And... as long as I trust in Jesus as my Savoir, why should it matter?

When I was 5 years old, I wondered why God would state "Let us make Man in Our image.." as if something else had been made that wasn't in His image. I also wondered why He felt the need to promise He would never again destroy the earth by flood.. as if He had done it before. As a child I had these questions and after much study, over 50 years, I do believe we are on a 2nd or 3rd creation. We shouldn't become obsessed with it, but a healthy curiosity keeps you in the Book!

I also believe we may share DNA with God, which is why he breathed the breath of life into man. This made us His children, literally.. another theory I contemplate is if our DNA is changed when we become "Saved" which is why we need to be "Born Again" - obviously I have lots of questions for Jesus! Again, nothing we need to become obsessed with, but it keeps us in the Book! Iron sharpens iron, love these types of discussion.

I think one of the important points that these men did not bring up is that, between Gen. 1:1 and Gen 1:3, time had not yet been created. Time was created between Genesis 1:3-5 as the Bible records as the first day.

How do you reconcile with Job 38 where it's says he laid the foundations of the earth plural. He stretched out the line upon. He began with a first rock, the corner stone and the sons of God a ND the morning stars watched it all. Also very different from Genesis 1 which begins with water.

Through one man sin entered the world, our current world doesn't mean nothing happened prior to. There's also the "younger dryas" comet event that in my thought could be the star falling from heaven and judgment on the angels who lived on earth. After all, Lucifer said he would ascend and where would he be ascending from?

From a macrocosmic view it was instantaneous, from a microcosmic view things came into existence at a slower pace. Keep in mind that thought travels faster than Light. Chapter 1 is simply God's sketch of Creation. It's a glimpse of God's Mental Plan to Create. We know that God does everything with purpose, for a purpose and on purpose, therefore everything has its proper place in existence. The "image" spoken of in which God created Man is His Imagination. Chapter 2 is the actual physical creation. That's why it specifies God giving "form" to Man and the fact that Man became a LIVING Soul.. Thought manifested. Before any word can be spoken or action taken the thought of such must take place FIRST. Genesis 1:1 and John 1:1 reflect one another. Thought is a formless substance until it is given a form by physical manifestation. Other than that it isn't wise attempting to decode certain mysteries that God has concealed. It's what makes God GOD and worthy of worship.

I am leaning towards the pre-admite theory. "Through one man sin came into this world", could mean that Adam is the reason why sin came into the men who were created in God's image. Also, I heard something about there being some differences between fallen angels and demons. Can anyone help me with that? I always thought that demons came about when God cast the devil and those who followed him down to earth, so by extension the fallen angels of Enoch's time are no different. Please help.

I know this video is pretty old, but if anyone is watching this and wondering about God’s plan for humanity, I would encourage you to read 2 Timothy chapter 1, which says; “So do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, or of me, His prisoner. Instead, join me in suffering for the gospel by the power of God. He has saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works, but by His own purpose and by the grace He granted us in Christ Jesus before time began. And now He has revealed this grace through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has abolished death and illuminated the way to life and immortality through the gospel” The plan throughout and before time was that God be glorified in the choosing and saving of a guilty and fallen people, and that guilt came through Adam. Gods plan is unchanging, and perfect from the beginning. Be encouraged by the fact that, if you are among God’s elect, there is nothing that can separate us from the God of our salvation.

I agree partially but partially I also understands that the world today needs what proof is. No not us Christians that live by faith, but the world doesn't live that way and how can we explain to them that do not live by faith except for having proof that God is who he is and that he raised his son from the dead for them and us. I feel to extend faith is to give proof, and to give proof we must connect the mysterious kingdom of God for today's people..plus Christ was and has been there from the beginning..every thing that was made was made by him and for him..now this was ur point that u presented..but there is alot more than this as proof of pre Adamic period..Jeremiah,,Ezekiel, Isiah..tear those books with just a hint of a mind set of possibility...Amen

There has to be a gap. Because the size of the universe. The amount of effort to traverse it. So the earth must be old. Also we have the remains of cro Magnon, neanderthal, physical proof of people, before man.

Sons of Gods would be “angels” Genesis 6 speaks of the sons of God dealing with the daughters of men. Then nephilim is created.

GOD doesn't need help as in 1,000 yrs, NO BUT, If HE chooses 2,000 yrs to get us to the point from Messiah's birth, ministry, sacrifice, death, burial, resurrection, and ascension to now... That's simply the method HE chose satan's distorting interpretation of men... Why can't a Day be literal in one context and figutively in another sense? As I understabd it, the spirit is the mind/brain for which we make cecisions, create also , our personalities etc, but the soul is the breath of lifr life as all creatures have, then when have the outter mantel / tent / flesh that houses the breath of life and the mind. God breathed the breath [oxygen] into Adam's nostriles then he BECAME a living soul. Life is in the blood - which carries oxygen througgh out our bodies and feeds our organs incluging our BRAINS! Why is science used separate of GOD here? Let's not discredit life-saving innovative science as opposed to YHWH, when many scientists are Christian scientists who use the art, if you will, to PROVE GOD and the Bible Plus, If science is outside or adverse to GOD and the Bible... We should discontinue using adjectives of GOD such as omniscient, omniscience, etc

One day with the Lord is a thousand years and a thousand years is one day. If you don’t understand creation, it will be difficult to understand the rest of the scriptures. Let there be Light. A introduction of himself. The Most High is the Light of the world. Adam wasn’t created on the sixth day. Because he would have rested with God. Adam lived short of a day 930yrs. The day you eat of the forbidden fruit you will die. Time is based on the creation of the Sun. The fourth day. I can’t do a whole Bible study. And just also know Eve had girls first. They were all called Adam. They were seed barres That’s where Cains wife came from. No incest because theirs no trespassing where there is no law. Eve could not have had all those children by herself. A woman still takes 9 months to have a child. Again she had female first. Eve pain was increased during childbirth, if there is an increase means she had already had childbirth even before the fall. She is the mother of all living. Then came Caine and Able. It all there in scripture. A clue in genesis 5:1-2 the generation of Adam. A generation isn’t a 24 hour day. And vs 2 again the female were call Adam not daughters. Hope this helps?
