@@MarcinRajski- You already added distortion with amp and pedal after the adding a low pass filter, could you please explain why you added more distortion with the decapitator after compression? If the goal was to have more distortion in the first place, why not further adjust the amp and pedal? Why bother with the amp and pedal if the decapitator is a higher quality plug in? Hey Man, I`ve got a question, in the 6ejou rumble tutorial you did the distortion (with Decapitator) on the whole group and the whole frequency spectrum, here you did the Distortion in parall. proc. and cut the lows in the distorted bassdrum. what indicates or what do I have to keep in mind to know if either of the two possibilities is the right one for my bassdrum? Hi! Sorry for the late reply. In a big shortcut - when I want to enhance/distort the kick in a way to add only higher-end crunch, without touching up the low-end (or without f-ing up the kick drum attack, as if I wanted an industrial techno kick), I use parallel processing. If I want the beginning of the kick to sound very original, if I want to enhance both kick and rumble in the same way, by the same amount, if I want the distortion to be much more aggressive - then I use group processing :)

I heard some people say sub info shouldn’t last too long so that woofers in the club and move properly. My issue with kicks really is I’m only sensitive to the tip of the kick but not the body or sustain. Is there any way train that aside from using sound gym?

"How do you determine the volume level of the sub that fills between the kicks though?" there isn't a certain rule if you mean the exact dB volume level of the sub sound. "I heard some people say sub info shouldn’t last too long so that woofers in the club and move properly. " That's why on sub sound sidechain comp. is used (to not mix low-end from sub with low-end from the main kick) along with (that's what I did in this video) setting the playback mode in Simpler to Gate to ensure that the sub stops playing before each main kick play. That further ensures low-end separation. "My issue with kicks really is I’m only sensitive to the tip of the kick but not the body or sustain. Is there any way train that aside from using sound gym?" SoundGym is more about ear training that comes useful during equalization. Regarding training with making the kick body or its sustain part - generally, it requires some practicing with both compression and distortion/saturation (eq is also important, but that's usually just a last step). I think a good way to practice making "sustain" parts of the kick is to try to make hardcore techno kick drums (an example: "Retailate" album by Angerfist), where the sustain part of it is very distorted and needs to indeed sound "full". With such distorted kick sounds it's also easier to learn using multiband compression. Cheers!

​@@strangerting7818allow myself to complete the answer. to properly manage its low end, it is necessary to have good monitoring... if you have speakers without acoustic treatment, it will be very difficult. putting the price in a good headphone is a good option... it will allow you to progress in the balance another point, for the relationship between the kick and the rumble bass, a good strategy is to use editing, rather than using a compressor to make a sidechain... indeed, you fade out the sustain of your punch and you fade in your Rumble. this is the easiest way to be clean in your relationship between your kick and your rumble
