Should get this in the mail tomorrow. Paid $434 during the spring sale. My system will then be my smsl su1 dac going rca into the a70pro going xlr into the fosi za3 going canare 4s11 bi wire into emotiva xb2's until i upgrade to the geshelli 4499 dac. use is on my desk.

So what are your thoughts so far with your current setup? I too am considering a geshelli 4499 socketed but I want a streamer that is reasonably priced that has i2s hdmi output. They're so expensive I my funds are running low, lol.

I had an original Topping A90 that I took out of my audio chain because I prefered the headphone output on the integrated amp that it was feeding, a Keces E40. The A90 sounded sterile compared to the Keces. And the A90 did not add anything as a preamp. I've been on the lookout for a replacement. Burson doesn't have a dedicated HPA/preamp in my price range. I wonder if the A70 Pro is what I'm looking for. My current DAC is the Ladder Schuman. I also have the original Topping D90.

Great little amp that Keces E40, I have two. Don't use the headphone jack but on a variety of speakers, its great. Use a Topping D70s and an Aune X8 with SParkos op amp.

Hi, A70 Pro is more detail and quieter, Ladder Bach is close to tube kind of sound with good detail sound and engaging tone, both of them are great choices the rest depends on paring components, thanks

SMSL SU-10 / SU-9Pro / D300 / D400EX / TOPPING D90LE / A70 Pro. Would it be a substantial upgrade or should I go for something like GUSTARD A26 / R26 ?

​@@Tharbamar most preamps are relatively quiet with more analogue and digital inputs than this, I'm not sure with such a high s/n your going to notice that in your chain and won't it just be too dry and clinical no flavour, no warmth so to speak

Would the e70 velvet be a solid option to pair with the a70 pro since I don’t feel like wasting $700 on the d70 pro I was planning on hooking up focal twin evo active monitors to this combo? Or should I spend 100 more and get pre90 for preamp?

Sure. E70 Velvet would absolutely be great. In fact I think one would not hear the difference. I own the Pre90 and it's great also.

Hi, personally I would go with KEF Q950 with sub if I only listen to heavy metal music. May be Klipsch Nines with sub if you want to get all active system, thanks

The svs 3000 has dual RCA left and right channels inputs just plug that directly to the RCA outputs of the a70 with normal RCA cables

Hi Tharbamar, thank you for the awesome review. I was wondering if, with the A70 pro I'd be able to use the xlr out in a passive way, without powering on the amplifier. I already do something similar with unbalanced RCA, with a Topping E30 and a Topping L50 (which have passive passthrough RCA). This allow me to connect E30 to L50, than L50 to my studio monitor and, once I power on the L50, I can just hear the sound from the headphone output. Hope this makes sense.

A70 PRO is also really good as preamplifier. There is no hearable difference between for example Topping Pre90 which is a dedicated preamplifier.
