The heroine of this movie fails every step of the way in this movie: her client is killed, she loses out on a paycheck due to her own stupidity, she gets the drop on some bad guys only to take them right to her apartment, she gets several henchmen and cops killed, is once again too stupid to figure out the police chief is in on it, and lets the macguffin get stolen upon which she just gives up. This movie seems to flout every narrative convention in the book. It’s almost like an anti-movie

Actually because I am such a cinema dork during my dvd/blu ray collecting days I often DID watch the trailers and teasers for a film I was about to watch. The way I always looked at it was as a time capsule of how the film was marketed and what the trends of the time were. I would watch the trailer and then the film to see what the experience might have been like at the time for audiences. Like what did they choose to say or promote in comparison to what the actual film was about? Great example is trailers in the 70s just giving away the entire film, like not giving away some clever plot twist like a trailer today would but honestly just giving you an unabashed shot by shot condensed telling of what the film is. I was glad that changed in the 80s.
