Typical baby.... I’m not going to sleep. There’s big monsters under the bed, I need a drink, it’s too dark, I need another hug & kiss, I need to be tucked in, read me one more story. Monkeys especially baby monkeys must move around a lot during the day so that they can have a fulfilling sleep at night. It doesn't matter the level of hyperactive they are on daytime. At night they will become restless, tired and it's easier for them to go to sleep.

I'd say that he only puts her in the crate at bedtime. Once he has her trained and gets used to a bedtime routine, he'll probably put a leash on her and let her sleep in the bed like JK & Shaki. The reason they wear a leash tied to the bed at night, is because without supervision, they would make a mess and possibly get into something that would hurt them, if they got out of bed while Jamil is asleep. Right now, the baby is very hyperactive and it wouldn't be fair to JK & Shaki to allow it to disturb their sleep by jumping around the bed all night and climbing on them whilst they try to sleep. I imagine it's already quite disruptive to have to hear the baby crying from the crate at night. Jamil is a brave man for taking this on - I myself could not handle it. I was thinking though, that the baby might settle down for bed faster, if Jamil gives it a bottle with rice cereal in it before bedtime, so that it's belly stays full longer, and then if Shaki would lay down and hold it to her chest like she was, the baby may feel more secure and it would soothe the baby to sleep by being held like it's mother would do. It makes me wonder what the situation was where it came from and what it's routine was, because this baby seems to be much more hyper than other babies I've seen at this age, and usually they are quick to cling to a mother figure, but this baby seems too independent already at it's young age.

She is at the age where she would be clinging to her mom and nursing g to go to sleep. Even after weaning, most moms still allow nursing at night. As soon as shaki accepts her and cuddles her, she will do better. Or maybe try a small bottle of warm soy formula.
