I'm a classically-trained keyboardist and film composer, so I know what it takes to perform and produce these covers. Then there's the fact that Chicago is among my 5 most favorite bands and the fact that "Hard to Say I'm Sorry" is 1 of my favorite Chicago songs! I ran into Leonid & Friends by happy coincidence while checking out Chicago songs performed by the band itself and cover bands (thank you, KZbin algorithms). I was amazed by the careful recreation of the original arrangements, the passionate and amazing performances by Leonid & Friends, and the excellent production quality! Leonid, I know it takes a lot of time to transcribe these arrangements, produce, mix, master, and complete video editing. I suspect that it's a labor of love. I, for one, greatly appreciate all or your hard work and appreciate your bringing together this amazing group of musicians to perform and produce these covers! As I have looked around KZbin for Chicago songs performed by the band itself, I have had a hard time finding versions of their songs performed by them using current recording technology. You all come the closest that I have found to faithful renderings of Chicago songs, but bonus, using modern recording and video technology. BRAVO!

Their cover of Fantasy by Earth, Wind & Fire is indistiguishable from the original. This cover is actually the least great of all their covers I've heard so far. But that is a massively high bar. It's just so hard to go toe to toe with Peter Cetera.

I honestly did not care for the original version of this song. I felt it dragged and I am a HUGE Chicago fan - had all their albums and played them repeatedly. But, this band made this song come to life. It is a crisp, precise version with soul and energy. The transition to the second song is smooth and the tempo ramps up quickly without a hitch. This band is perfection!

Ironically the first time I ever heard Hard to Say I'm Sorry was when I was studying at UNAM in 1982. (I'm an American and my college had a program with UNAM). Living in Taxquena I would listen to one of the radio stations that played American top 40, and this was my all-time favorite. Then I'd go catch the trolley to the Uni.

I grew up with Chicago, I remember in the late 70's driving down Alki Beach in my 1963 Chevy SS and have Saturday In The Park blasting away! I just saw L&F 3 weeks ago and the real Chicago last week (11/4/2021) at the MGM Casino near Cleveland, OH. I've said it before on these L&F videos and I'll say it again: it's one thing for Peter Cetera and the rest of Chicago to write and arrange this song (and all their songs) from scratch. But when you consider what Leonid Vorobyev did here: he listened to the record, on his stereo or headphones, and proceeded to break down each individual instrument and vocal and harmony part individually, then transcribe those parts by hand on to sheet music using long hand music notation, then assemble the best musicians he could find, then show them and teach them the music and arrangement on each DIFFERENT instrument, and have everyone sing in near perfect English when it's not even their second or third language....... absolutely amazing job and a project for all these songs that surely took months if not years to finalize. Just think about it. You're listening to a song on your stereo and then you want to set out to write out the music of every part just from your ear.

No one can match Cetera. No one. His voice is silky smooth. The horns were excellent on this. And guitar was better on this one than 25 or 6 to 4. But he still impressed me on that one too.

Leonid is a master of covering the very difficult to recreate songs of Chicago. Again, absolutely perfect vocals, horns and strings. And when the beat picks up for Get Away, the whole band is rockin and 100% in sync. Leonid you do AMAZING work, no doubt about it. Your covers could EASILY be mistaken for the originals they are SO well done. BRAVO!

Leonid and Friends are the best counter-parts of Chicago and honor them by playing the tunes that some of us old farts grew up with.
