I'm gonna be that guy and unfunnily elaborate this, a lot of people seem to think that rain shaman controls rain or water, but this is not the case with Indonesian rain shaman. What they do is not rain dance and invite rain, but the inverse, they ward off rain and keep the sky sunny. AFAIK it always has been this way for a long time, the modern use is for outdoor events, but even in ancient times Java never really want for water. Rain is constant and plenty, the land is super fertile, and even in ancient times Javanese has prolific mastery of irrigation technology making the need of begging for rain to ensure good harvest unlikely. Even a lot of Indonesian fans seem to forget this especially with the translated term from pawang hujan to rain shaman. Kobo's watery design doesn't help either.
