For mine which has a z24i engine it was 6, just feel all the way around with your finger, pop the hood and feel around there too

Don't need anything under the jack but u do got to jack the transmission up when it's released from the transmission mount to get the top transmission bolt from under the hood

So I my transmission out and where the shifter plate actually mounts to the housing there something missing. There is a spring in the hole but some screws into that hole. I need to know what is supposed to go in that hole. Shifter was out when I got the truck. Thanks

I have a 1987 d21 z24i and I'm trying to remove my bad transmission but I'm stuck trying to get the crossmember bolts out I have a new transmission for it I love my little z motor

If you haven't gotten them yet check that its not spinning up top and if its just not breaking loose you gotta heat them up. Undercarriage bolts if rusted will always need some heat.

Is there any way to tell the 5th gear synchro is bad with it still in the transmission. I saw little or no brass in the oil. What do I need to be looking for? Thanks

FS5W71C you can use pretty much any transmission from a KA24, single or dual cam. If you use a 240SX transmission you'll either need to swap tail ends and shift shafts or just buy a custom shortened driveshaft.

Watching what comes off helps but the terminology is all over the place. Also a 240sx trans isn't going to work without a lot of modifications, different driveshaft, etc.
