I still can't believe it's real. Idk the last time I ever watched a game awards live, but I'm SO happy I watched this one live. A new Onimusha was the last thing I expected to see. As soon as I saw those red orbs floating into the gauntlet I threw my hands up onto my head and was just in disbelief. Actually shed a tear lmao, so insane.

Bro, since they revived DMC with the 5th one, I was hoping they would have a new Onimusha! It's been 5 years since Devil May Cry 5 and here we are! What a time to be alive! Main character looks like a mix of Samanosuke and Jubei

I genuinely thought we'd never see another Onimusha. Onimusha 2 was the first I played back in early 2003, so I met Jubei before Samanosuke, making Jubei my favourite protagonist. It has remained the game closest to my heart. The cutscene introducing all the main characters, the music, the atmosphere, the weapon and armour upgrades, the gift giving and replayability. Really made me fall in love with the series. Played Onimusha 3 and Dawn of Dreams as well.

So, when the trailer first started, I was like "oh a game set in feudal Japan how original" then I saw the red souls and was like "👀👀👀 NAHHHHH no way..." stayed in denial until he started gathering them, and then BOOM that glorious capcom logo. Started screaming and jumped up outta my seat. Samanosuke is back baby! (Or at least, someone who looks a lot like him).

Hmm 🤔 I believe it’s a sequel to onimusha 1. Because Samanosuke-san disappeared following what happened in the first game. I bet he’s looking for Nobunaga Oda since in Onimusha 2 transformed him into a Demon king. Or it’s a reboot.

Unfortunately, they probably can’t do anything with Samanosuke anymore for legal reasons :/ I can’t remember specifics, but it has something to do with the actor’s face/likeness. Similar reason why we never got more Jubei
