"we're not out there to cook, we're out there to explore" - THANK YOU!!! So many "overlanders" seem to have those priorities backwards. I see these giant 500 lbs pull-out kitchens and I'm like man, I don't even cook at home, why would I want to do it on the trail? Just give me a bratwust and a beer - done.

There have been many trips were every dinner consisted of hot dogs or hamburgers and they were just as good as trips where people drive 12 hours somewhere to spend 3 hours cooking lunch instead of wheeling. That being said going with someone who does fancy cooking is the real move, none of the work but all the reward lol

Just "BURN IT!" on the back door you could build it flat that folds up with a couple panels that fold out on either side to make a decent awning the width of the truck. Really enjoy the videos yall!!

We were just talking about that! I was thinking if you put a pivot point on the end you could have a bunch of triangular panels swing out In a circle to make something that kinda looks like an umbrella 🤔 would be cool and needlessly complicated which is my thing, but I dunno how to make it water tight

As far as the interior goes you make the door the full 32 inches to sit on the very back of the truck vs in-between the tubing. Place your hinges on the top of the frame so you can adjust how tight the door squeezes to the frame with all your foldouts going in-between the two uprights on the back. Just an idea.

If that makes any sense whatsoever 😄

Love the videos of this build/rebuild. For my shop I bought a carbide blade chop saw #gamechanger. Keep the videos coming I want to see the Taco pound through the woops. High five from A Little Off Racing 5522

You can make a mini tailgate behind the fridge on the end on the slider, it can be used as lock for the slide as well as a work/cooking/mac n cheese prep area. Then the top section could be like you said a small awning of some sort.

It would be pretty rad to end up with some kind of table thing out of the whole deal. I could always make the skid a seperate piece from the metal behind the fridge, then make it slide out with the fridge. I didn't realize it until just now but i also need some sort of rear bumper, so that'll be fun to figure out with the fridge living where it belongs

I like the thin cupboard/shelf idea. Just make it the perfect size to fit ammo cans. Then you would just have a wall of box’s.

Ive got a plan to incorporate the milwaukee packout boxes and their mounting system in the storage area which would kinda accomplish the same idea. I do have a bunch of ammo cans laying around though, so that would be a lot cheaper!

Cool vid! Looking good! My idea/suggestion is to design the fridge access so no slide or movement is needed at all! Faster can access the beer, the better. It could save lives
@WheelEveryWeekend4 жыл бұрын
I need to explain it better, it's not possible to have fridge access without the slide because the entire top portion will be 1 big flat aluminum plate that all our junk gets piled on. So the option is either make a slide or take out all of our camper gear to raise the panel to get to the fridge. I think for sure either way you're gonna have to lift the tire, I could also make the entire back wall come up with the tire too I think

Fucking nice welds though..... should always do a quick wipe down with acetone before welding 🤘🏼
@WheelEveryWeekend4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! My standards are pretty high so i spend alot of time grinding out welds which is humbling. Crazy how sometimes a bead looks perfect until you grind off the first half and it's full of damn holes haha

Wheel Every Weekend me too , I’m the same way but my welds are not as pretty lol getting better but I’ve ground out a few ditches and left a little Material and lay better beads lol🤘🏼

Hinge it to the side like a door? Great video. Thanks for bringing us along on your adventures

So i actually just realized i have to build a rear bumper too haha. Funny how small things like that slip your mind, but i may end up making it flop up or down in that case, need a recovery attachment point as well somewhere

Thanks so much! That's our goal, we want to show a little more of the "how" and "why" of the builds that gets left out usually.

Sooo, burn it!! XDD I dont get the american inches and 1/4, 1/8, and so on, it would be so much easy to just use the world standert metric system.
