SB I've watched religiously for years and that kind of thing you would certainly notice if he was cheating after that long. It's pretty clear he doesn't. And I agree Wunba 100% doesn't. For example he streamed the Netherite Beacon from start to finish and if you WERE to cheat in Hardcore that is exactly where it would be.

Usually, I hate reacts channels because they often put in minimal effort and use another people's videos to make money in a way that won't get them demonetized, but with SB's reaction channel, it's completely different, he talks about his own feelings, his own experiences, and most importantly, talking about the topic in advance. not just "reacting" to a video like almost all other reaction channels do. I'm very glad that my video wasn't seen as an attack, it's a tough issue to talk about without making people angry. In all reality, I never expected the video to do as well as it did. It's ultimately nothing more than a glorified channel update. I was just announcing my hardcore series to the 2 thousand subscribers that I had at the time and that was it. As for my skill issue: SB is right, I'm not super great at the game yet, but that's kind of the point of this upcoming series. Plus, it seems he missed the price per death, so he doesn't know what's at stake. (Also, he mentioned totems make it nearly impossible to die, I wonder what a hardcore series would look like if you couldn't use totems...?)

That way you don't skip any of your days while simultaneously prevent phantom from spawning.

Regarding 'Open to LAN', that doesn't mean someone's cheating. Someone might launch a LAN server to get their camera account. Also if we reset to survival in LAN server, close and reopen the world, server is turned off and game pauses. Also cheats/commands are no longer available until start the server again.

Just FYI, the pause thing isn't a surefire way to detect a cheater. When I used to play on the Switch, it drove me crazy that absolutely nothing paused the game. If I needed to take a leak, I had to box myself in because even going to the Switch menu did not pause the game.

On Switch it is Bedrock. On Java, the Game menu pauses so if it is not pausing means it is LAN and Hardcore is also only on Java

8:35 its actually so easy to go into your saves folder and edit your statistics. Even if a hardcore youtuber shows their stats (which never happens) they could've easily been redone in less than 5 minutes to hide any deaths, reset time since death, etc

False logic. World backups are so easy to do and gamefile edits. Only streaming your gameplay will ensure the viewer that there are no cheats.

Another method to detect if someone died in their Hardcore world is the statistics menu. You can see all the mobs that you have killed and the mobs that have killed you as well as the last time you died, so either they have to willingly open their stats menu or you need their stats uuid file. But if they know how to change their stats (which is pretty simple) they can get away with it, but most people forget that the stats menu even exists so theres a chance to detect a cheater. Also if you relog after you open to lan, the lan is closed so you cant detect a cheater using lan if they just relog and cotinue recording.

I don't play hardcore, but there are other ways to get a hardcore world back without opening to LAN. If you have a nbt editor, you just need to flip the hardcore bit to false and open up the world. Then you can flip it back to true to make it hardcore again. It's also possible to play with the settings to eliminate the number of deaths that have occurred. I used the bit trick to see if I could create a peaceful mode hardcore world and it worked perfectly.

@estefaniajackson1572 For Java edition, it's kept in the level.dat file. You will need a nbt editor to read and edit the file. Word of caution, these are settings files for the application so you corrupt your game if you just make random changes. I would backup the file first. Also, I'm a programmer by profession so I tend play around with configuration files just to see what I can get the game to do. But, I also have a sense as to what data the configuration item is looking for. Just for clarification, you could corrupt your world, not Minecraft itself. If you do corrupt your world, you can delete the level.dat files and Minecraft will generate another one, but it will reset your game so that any armor you were wearing or anything in your inventory will be gone. Whatever you have built or stored in chests will still exist since they are kept in a separate file(s).

I'm not really sure if you can count the pause menu thing as cheating as some people run their world off of a server so they can film their hardcore progress on seperate locations, like maybe like you they have a studio or something and don't want to risk corrupting the file by moving it around too much on a HDD/SSD but it's still something to keep in mind. I think a better way is to look if the person has multiple hardcore videos and if the world doesn't pause in one video but it does in another then the chance it's being cheated on is higher.

I’ve seen wunba fake a video before. In one where he was with his friends trying to get every advancement in 100 days. He was flying with f3 open and had the days blurred out. He probably could have gotten away with it better even not blurring it rather than drawing attention to it.

I usually skip the episode where they make a raid farm. It gives them an insane amount of totems of undying. With no real effort put into them. And as long as they don’t fall into the void. With out a way out they can’t die. Or die from one of the bosses “accidentally”.

To your ways to detect open to lan: 1. Game not paused if open to lan is used: This happens only if the game is currently open to lan. If they rejoin the world, it's back to normal. 2. Compass or statistics: Someone can just edit the nbt data to delete those things before sharing the world

I'm guilty of doing Minecraft Hardcore videos myself, and I want to say that creating backups is really essential for so many reasons. Once, while playing Minecraft, my computer run out of storage space and crushed. My world got corrupted and all the achievements and statistics were gone. Thanks to backup, I could restore it, but since backup wasn't very recent, there is still a chunk of progress that I am unfortunately missing. So I would say that backup is important not only for people who make a content, but also for the private worlds if you don't want to lose it because of software error rather than your skill. And yes, Hardcore is extremely easy once you have totems and mob switch. There are some incredibly easy raid farms you can build (almost) on day 1. And having warden switch makes the world basically peaceful lol So cheating is actualy not needed as you don't even get close to death even if your skills are below average (like mine lol)

the most likely way is probably if your elytra breaks over the void, or you go afk in a dangerous spot. Wubna almost died at his villager breeder because somehow villagers escaped and almost pushed him into the ocean. Imagine losing your world to drowning while you are afk

The problem with your LAN detection is that they can open to LAN, start a LAN world, and turn into survival easily- but can leave and come back to reset it. They will still be in survival, and leave no trace.

The pausing game thing to check if they are open to lan only works if they are stupid about it. If you die, open to lan and put yourself back in survival then log out and back in again, you are no longer in a lan world but a normal single player survival, and escape will once again pause the game. EDIT: Also another thing to note for like live streaming and also just in general using lan to respawn, if they act like nothing has happened and no time has passed you can check the xp bar, they might have overlooked the loss of xp.
