[HARDEST PLATFORMER] CONVOLUTION by MaddyGD -

This was an absolute journey - when this level was verified, it came as a shock to me since I had assumed nobody was close to verifying it at the time. After playing it a little, I strongly felt as if it was Maddy's best work (in terms of gameplay) and I still think this now. The level itself is absolutely brutal, being (in my opinion) measurably harder than Null and Cl5u37r0ph0b1a, and its decoration/song are great too. This was also the first time I had tried streaming a level to complete it (not counting the prior streams of Nautical Nightmares) and overall, it was a lot of fun! That's why I decided to add highlights; I think leaving the funniest moments to collect dust in the streams playlist of my channel was a waste. Still, there is a lot more I didn't have time to include, so check them out if you want. All in all, this level is great and I highly recommend it!!!

Im liking this video style. Though i find current top platformers bleak and i dont understand the difficulty of them, having them broken down in this format makes it very digestable and far more interactive!🙏

​@@superkobster It just feels like a race for difficulty than quality which is understandable. I just dont feel like enough thought was put into the visuals which makes sense in some sort, it makes creating platformers far more accessible and allows for more possibilities. But i just find most platformers boring to look at personally and it automatically makes me gloss the gameplay which i assume lots of work was put into. when typically watching a verification/completion video of a top platformer im just like "oh, its another one of those" and quickly forget it. but this type of video format has a sense of scale of both time and effort, it makes me feel like im the one completing it too and with breaks of the level inbetween it emulates realistically what it is like beating them levels. i dont wanna go out on a completely negative note but an example of a top platformer that i mess with is free solo. if im being honest i used to really hate it at first but when a couple of my friends went on to beat it i realised how intricate the gameplay is. implementing all sorts of tech and it feels very genuine, the visuals also remain interesting and varied throughout. and before you ask for my opinion on convolution i do have respect for resisting the urge to stand on the edge of spikes and this vid just makes me appreciate it more basically lmao, hopefully this essay didnt come as a surprise lmao

@@7rodo thank you for a measured and sensible response - too many people in the community result to insults when discussing top platformers. i will say that free solo is probably the most fun extreme demon i've played, both classic and platformer, and it gets bonus points for good deco. you are right about the deco being worse against classic levels, but also yeah the gameplay is very excellent in this level; it just flows so well. i understand watching it can be boring though if the visuals are lame, but hopefully in the future upcoming top levels look nicer
