@macattack123mattc32 жыл бұрын
@@woldemortxyz7996 FYI: 8kw = 8000w; 8000w / 220v = about 36 amps. If you want to be able to continuously supply 8kw to that sub, you'll need a ridiculously beefy circuit. There is literally no reviews about DIY kits, so buying a kit is an act of faith, faith based solely on the product description and maybe a forum post. @ErinsAudioCorner2 жыл бұрын
Well, let's approach this logically... when you say "everywhere" you mean "Audioholics". Who I did mention in this review twice. Monoprice's numbers come from Audioholics. No one else has provided CEA-2010 data for either/both of these subwoofers that I am aware of. So, yes, mine and James' numbers are different. I know how mine was tested and both the 15 and the 13-inch I tested were tested under the same conditions (temp, humidity, microphone calibration, system software, etc). So, naturally I trust my numbers. But I don't think James would mess something up on purpose, either. So, we are at a stalemate. I'm not tore up about it, though. This is one issue with CEA-2010 comparisons from different parties. James would probably tell you the same. Luckily you have both of our data sets to pull from.

Immediately, this screams SVS PB13 Ultra* knockoff to me....which is fine really. Solid offering, it'll move a lot if air. Oftentimes, vented sub like this would be recommended for high volume rooms... when Vessel Gain is minimal. Interestingly, these long stroke platforms are often best supplemented with a mid-bass, for increased texture and apparent speed. A typical arc an enthusiast (myself) experiences is this; You employ massive amounts of stroke, pursuing single digit extension... check. I built a quad 18" attic IB (30mm Xmax), in addition to two separate double 15" sealed subs. ~3500 cube family room w/open kitchen behind the listening area. Subs; 4x18", 4x15" My mains have dual 12"s as well. All that high quality stroke can be subjectively bested by simply adding "pro" midbass units. Yes, implementation is key, proper blending summation is vital. My supposition includes inductance effects, impedance peaks (whereby essentially ALL current is used for stroke), instantaneous compression effects magnetic and thermal... also idealized restoring force/tighter suspension. And of course force factor BL(x) curve. These big air pump, long stroke drivers can struggle to adequately resolve mid and upper bass... they're "lossy". It's a tall task to wobble the room at 10hz, and resolve kick drum punch and bass texture 60hz-80hz. *(SVS PB13 Ultra was a longstanding benchmark for vented subs, and low bass reproduction. Forum OG Ilkka Rissanen was the first DIY enthusiast/forum member, to establish Apples to Apples outdoor subwoofer measuring. Now a senior acoustic engineer at Genelec. His measurements proved why the PB13 Ultra was so successful) We're lucky to have Monoprice Monolith products... they're robust, high performance and high value.
