Critical thinking is required. He was arguing that the Abrahamic faiths were not organic to Africa. We didn't create these religions because they are not ours. Christianity was the invention of the Greeks to control the population within their empire from Alexandria, Egypt. After the Greeks lost power, The Romans took over using Christianity to colonize people in their empire. Then the Catholic Church used it to enslave Africans. Black folks are at the bottom of every category imaginable according to statistics. How has Christianity benefitted black folks in the long haul because it for damn sure benefitted white folks.

@@stablsed309 We have a tendency to generalize when talking about Africa as if certain things apply to every single person on the continent or even a particular region of Africa. You can have a group of Africans who were christians in a particular region but maybe there were a certain number who didn't convert to christianity who lived in that region as well. Just because christianity was in a certain region doesn't mean that every single person in that region accepted it and embraced it. It's just like in some families, the mother goes to church and takes her children but the father stays home and is not a christian. And there have been mothers in certain households who have even allowed their children at a certain age to decide whether they wanted to go to church or not so they may have stayed home with the father and didn't become a Christian. Maybe some of the people that were taken into slavery weren't christians and didn't embrace christianity although they lived in that region.

This conversation needs a number 2 with Dr. Umar Johnson as well! I would really want to see this conversation and add Marcus Rodgers to this along with Anton while keeping Jerome and Damon

I am so appreciative for this discussion and hearing my brothers in Christ speaking all the truth I have been seeking the Lord about pertaining to our Christianty. Because I need to hear the truth spoken clearly about our faith in Jesus Christ. For one because a lot of these things I have been speaking to my nieces about where we were not coming in agreement with, so I pray now they will see it clearly. My brothers brought clarity with this discussion, thku so much brothers.

Pastor Damon’s response around the 153:00 mark was SPIT ON! It led to the notion of the problem not being Christianity, but “Christians” not submitting to the lordship of Christ and actually following God.

Moderators have to do better at being impartial at all times although they may share similar views and sentiments with some of their guests. At the beginning, Melek and Jarrod sat there and listened without interruptions for quite some time, and every time it was their time to speak, they were almost immediately interrupted. I mean did Jarrod speak at all?! 🤦🏾♂️ 😂 Sincerely, a fellow Believer.

History is facts recorded. Are those facts truth? How can we know? We only have what we have. I was really wanting to hear each individuals opinion not, arguing against each other. Based on our culture, thats what we believe. I pray we all come together in love and truth.

Melek is COOKING, THOSE OTHER BROTHERS READ THOSE European BOOKS AND THEY'RE NOT VIBRATING ON A HIGH ENOUGH FREQUENCY TO UNDERSTAND WHERE HE IS COMING FROM!
@NOREAZONJDКүн бұрын
Specifically, he spoke on something they couldn't even comprehend. He asked, "Who were we before colonization, and why didn't we use those tools to liberate ourselves?" I don't understand why people don't understand that. Damon was way too emotional and didn't really dig into the fact that we have, as a people, not valued our own cultural spirituality but disagreed with it, describing it as witchcraft. As Malcolm X once said, "WHO TOLD YOU TO HATE YOURSELF? "
@ElizabethSHowze18 сағат бұрын
That’s the problems. Melek out here riding on frequencies, false history, and no facts. Damon was trying to explain and prove by giving historical facts, that prior to colonization, African people were practicing Christianity as their cultural and CHOSEN spiritual practice. For whatever reason, that’s hard for some to believe and admit. Also, and ironically, Melek nor Jarrod stated that some of the practices of cultural spirituality and indigenous “religions”were harmful and evil to Africans PRIOR to the sister from Cameroon having to bring it up. They were not being honest themselves in their glorification of Africa and its indigenous religions but quick to point out how Jerome and Damon weren’t being genuine when discussing Christianity.

Maybe u’ll get ur answer in the after life but until why dwell on it? Some will say yes but that doesn’t get u into the kingdom, believing in the gospel and doing the lords work does
@givingyahgloryКүн бұрын
@CacaoFlower To Israelites, like myself, it's rhetorical but those who profess to be Christian and are Black/Afr. Amer., it's a question I believe one should consider. Historically Speaking. Because our path to Eternal Life rests on us keeping the Laws, Statutes and Commandments. And that's the path of the Messiah according to the Messiah.

@CacaoFlower Matthew 19:16-17 Verification!!!!!! Also, Jeremiah 31:36 “If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.” Verification!!!!!

To "Zee" the young lady who said each culture should follow the religion of their own people is aligned with the belief of polytheism. If polytheism is the way then the argument of equality is mute because the concept of equality is derived from the belief that we were all created equal and therefore should be treated equally. If we were NOT all created equally meaning by the same God and given the same value then we need to adjust our expectations to assume that you should consult your religion for a better understanding of your value and what you deserve, AND polytheism would suggest that being of/from/led by different Gods may be the reason for different treatment and different values/privilege/and success. We can only argue/justify/expect equal treatment when we are created equally. So don't expect the same if we are not all of and from the same. This idea of having and serving different Gods abrogates the argument of equality. Consult your God for why you are not liberated and treated equally as those of other Gods if this is your belief.

Melek is making the same argument as the people in Jesus' time. Looking for Jesus to make political impact when He clearly stated that His Kingdom is not of this world. He came to bring the Kingdom of God to earth, not to establish a new world system. John 18:35-37
