Even though i know this is going to come off as an attack, just know its not. But i want to say it direct.....are you also under the comments of the women podcasts selling their bodies and souls requesting for better female representation? Because the women love to come to male sections telling men they need more men like this. But i rarely see women holding other women accountable for the disgusting behavior they are displaying today.

Loved this discussion! When the KeKe Palmer thing was discussed and her boyfriend's actions were passive-aggressive, it was described as "real feminine". I think it's important that we stop claiming negative actions/traits over womanhood. As a woman, being passive-aggressive is not a part of my feminity. Nor should it be apart of any woman's feminity. Words have meaning.

🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾this is part of why some men are afraid to be transparent. I dislike all of the things, even how they have to eat certain things a certain way. Our culture needs an entire face lift spiritually! I stand with you on this!!!!
@drea0795 Жыл бұрын
Exactly!! 👏🏾👏🏾 It’s childish/immature, NOT feminine. Thank you for that correction. 🙏🏾
@DetroitHimawari Жыл бұрын
I hear you but feminine does not equal woman and vice verse. Femininity is a dominant characteristic of a woman in most cases but she will also express masculinity. It is feminine to be passive aggressive. It is masculine to be overtly aggressive. Either way, it wouldn’t be a good trait for a woman to be aggressive in either form.
@zerospecs233111 ай бұрын
I really love how you articulated this so well, because I agree. The moment he said it was feminine- my face: 🤨🧐🤨. And if anything, it felt like a backhanded insult towards the boyfriend, similar to “You throw like a girl”- which is then, still an insult towards women in turn. He could have said it was passive aggressive- and left it at that. Like you said, passive-aggressive is not something I embrace in my behavior, character, or energy. And I didn’t like how he classified it as that.

Today this podcast made me experience what I can only describe as a miracle/sign from God. My boyfriend and I started dating last November we've been together about 11 months but we have been doing long distance (UK to Canada) for the past 4ish months, obviously that comes with its challenges. We have been managing and I would say our relationship is in a good place, we were on the phone this morning and I was telling him about a journal entry I wrote on Feb 7 2023 titled 'trust in God' I read the entry to him because it was about how I felt a push to move to the UK from God which was scary given me and my boyfriend had just started dating, I wrote down that I was scared but I was going to 'live by faith'. I read the whole entry out to my boyfriend on the phone this morning, we had a convo about it and talked about how we are supposed to be together and then went about our days. I decide to turn on this podcast as I had seen Dee-1 on The Basement podcast and like his vibe and wanted to hear more, I had never listened to Hardly Initiated before. As I am listening to this podcast while I work, it gets to 29:00 and Tysean says or 'Shanice and Brandon' I drop everything I'm doing .... my name is Shanice and my boyfriend's name is Brandon, I can't help but think that was a sign from God I have been smiling ever since :) thankful for this podcast and for Dee-1 as a guest!!

Same. I didn't listen to the whole thing but did they ever define a "traditional" man other than him being monogamous? Also, Dee's definition of "leading" in that he has to be "looked up to" is a bit immature. I'm at least a decade older than him so I've SEEN some things and life is LONG. When you're all up in each other's lives, you're going to see the less than honorable aspects of one another. You're going to see the weaknesses and you need to RESPECT one another. Respect is in spite of the other person's weakenesses.

It’s been 10yrs now since I decided to work on my healing and then be intentional when I’m ready. I am still single and that is what I am. No casual nothing because my focus is on God. I thank God for also allowing me to get over this narrative that you have to have sex and going 10yrs without is a problem. People say “girl, you look sane and pretty but are not having sex, then you must be trying to control a man?” How that computes, I really don’t understand. I just wish people would stop mocking people that choose celibacy. We don’t say we’re better than others, we just don’t want to go thru the ungodly motion that most people already in it are not even happy or healed.

On the topic of preferences: I’m Latina. My ex husband is black. When I married my ex, my great aunt told me I was ruining my race, which made me so disappointed. The only preference I have for my daughter is that her husband loves Jesus more than anything. I don’t care if he’s Hispanic, Black, White, Asian, polka dotted or purple. Race wont mean anything when we make it home.

Thank you guys for bringing this to attention 👏. Modesty is quickly phasing out and it’s heartbreaking. Ladies, be an example for your children and put God first.

Loved this episode. I love listening to him speak. Dee is so intellectual, so well spoken and so mature. He made me re-evaluate my walk with God and truly want to continue to grow in my righteousness. I know I will be the most gorgeous version of myself when I let go of my rebellion towards God.
