Part 1: how to create Millenium/Early Hardcore kicks: 808/909 + EQ + Distortion. Part 2: Layer a Snare beneath the Kick for the Transient (Sidechain-Nightmare). Part 3: Boost the subfrequencies and add a Hicut. Part 3.1: Limiter on Master BUS: ON TOP before Distortion (harmonic control of the distortion). Part 4: Reverb on the MASTER, render, reimport, turn Reverb off, reverse, lowcut, -> "crunchroom" (additional midrange harmonics). Part 5: Add a monosub for more depth. Part 6: feel free to experiment with Part 1 to 7. Part 7: Render everything, close the DAW, bin the project, impress your friends with the results, upload this as a samplepack and wait for the money to come in!

@loxxbeats you mean, when the kick just "turns"?
@TraxtasyMedia Жыл бұрын
@loxxbeats like in Feel Terror Cloud your senses from Day-Mar?
@TraxtasyMedia Жыл бұрын
@loxxbeats that's just a delayed bass, which is not directly sidechained with the transient. Just record your voice, while saying DUT or DUD multiple times. Cut the transient off, replace it with a 909. Take several channels: one for the kick, one for the sub and one for the bass, create a reverb send, that you link to the bass with a small release and a fast attack. Try around until you don't hear a doubling effect. Put an EQ on that bass, around 150-2,5khz should work for full use of the midrange. I guess.
@TraxtasyMedia Жыл бұрын
Feedback me if it worked. You can still replace it with an old school Hardcore bass :3

I really need help. Im making a rawstyle kick like you in this video. However if I check which key im on edison it says that my punch is in C0 and the crunch is in F2.. That cant be right? And if it is how did they drift so far apart when im using the same kick sample and just splitting them apart. I hope you understand my question 😅

Hey, I really liked your videos and your sample packs. I have a question. Do you also take a request? I really want to know how to make the kick sound from one of my favorite songs: D-Block & S-te-Fan & Headhunterz - Keepers Of Our Legacy at 2:47 that is when the melody and the kick start. I really want to know or get the kick from that track. Would you be able to make that one? I've seen a lot of videos on D-Block & S-te-Fan & Headhunterz - Keepers Of Our Legacy remake but it seems like nobody quite gets it. If you can make that, I would absolutely buy that from you. Having FLP would be the best option but I am good with samples as well.

I don't see how you create several chains in the mixer, it's top-down processing. For true chains I would use Patcher.

I see there in the studio a pair of genelec and a Apollo twin, I have the same but my experience is not that good cause on the genelec’s it sounds really banging, but on other systems it sounds thin and a lack of bass, do you experience the same? And do you now maybe a solution? Also very cool content on this channel, looking forward to the future uploads 👌🏻

Why do you automate the limiter gain? What is the point of doing this? Sorry I’m new
@OnPointSamples Жыл бұрын
No problem! You can automate anything that is a volume parameter. However, I would never automate the mixer volume or the volume knob in the sample. That's because if you want to mix the sample easily, it'll be controlled by the automation clip and not the 'volume fader' itself. That's why I load in another plugin with a volume knob, and automate that one, so I can still easily mix in the sample in the mixer with the volume fader! :)

Alot of people say to EQ and distort the 909 many times. Usually when I have alot of EQ and Distortions on the 909 my tail sounds very buzzy and messy and muffled the more I eq/distort. I have tried EQ cutting but it doesn’t sound any better the more distortions I add the more worse it sounds and doesn’t really change the sound much anymore. Usually after like 7 eq and distortions is when I start experiencing this issue. How do people use so many EQ and distortion on their 909 kick and their tail just sounds better and better and so clear? What am I not doing or doing wrong? Experimented so much and can’t seem to figure it out. I’m stuck 😢
@OnPointSamples Жыл бұрын
@@sendlocation8476 7x should be more than enough for sure. This method is mainly used for 'oldschool' kick production, but if you're looking to make the more modern sound, try methods used in this video for example: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l6bZh4idqqhmf7s&ab_channel=OnPointSamples Just keep practicing and you'll get better automatically! Don't worry too much! :)
