great video! a small heads up tho, square waves only contain ODD harmonics, not even like you said in the video!

Very nice was looking for this. Noticed that my kicks lacked something in the low end. Most kick samples have some bad low end too so to make my kicks more consistent this will work wonders

Great Video! If you use Pro q3 set it on "linear phase" standerd it is set to "zero latency". Zero latency causes phase problems, especially in the low end.
@Eternize Жыл бұрын
Whoever told you that is wrong 😉
@Digitrux Жыл бұрын
@@Eternize I did everything according to your video and I used an oscilloscope to see the final result and the waveform had a weird look. Did you also use an oscilloscope to view the result? That's why I used the "linear phase" mode and then the result on the oscilloscope looked good.
@Eternize Жыл бұрын
@@Digitrux If anything, linear phase mode facilitates the "skewed" waveform. To fix the waveform, simply put an EQ in non-linear mode with a lowcut at the end of the chain.

Love your videos, they help a lot. I have a question, I work with Serum, but it does not have an inversion option. Any ideas?

Great tutorial. Bought all your packs other day. Loving them. The kick pack is great. Do you have a tutorial on how your pitch your kicks? I've been using nimble kick with your modern kicks and seems to work pretty well. Will you consider putting put a a kick builder pack I'm future ? Toks, punches, tails, subs etc

@ ETERNIZE @ PRODUCERS I am currently making a NC kick and still EQing and distorting a 909. Now when I am checking my sub bass in the oscilloscope how can I make my sub bass waveform have that M shape? Like after the highest peak there is a smaller peak right after it.
@mindmachinepsy Жыл бұрын
Doesn't the phase inversion do the same as the phase knob? if you load up serum and turn the knob for exactly 180° it should have the same result. The knob just makes it easier to flip it perfectly
@Eternize Жыл бұрын
I would think so - however in Serum the starting point of the square and saw wave might be different, so you would have to dial it in manually anyway.
@mindmachinepsy Жыл бұрын
Yea that makes sense. I don't doubt it's easiest in Sylenth. Been using that synth for 15 years at least and it still excels at many thing xD@@Eternize
@JohnKennedy-up3hb Жыл бұрын
@@mindmachinepsythis is something I figured out in serum a while ago and it’s even easier, you can add harmonics in manually with serum. Start with a sin wave and then click the pencil to the top right of the wav, from there u can add in harmonics and have more control!
@mindmachinepsy Жыл бұрын
Yea been doing that too for a while, works pretty good for frenchcore when automated, but this method here i do like the sound of@@JohnKennedy-up3hb

I have a question about kick: Some people have told me that it is best for Raw Kick's tail to end up looking like a square wave (just like using a clipper). I think that's true for kick in a lot of hardstyle music today. Can you tell me why kick needs to be like this?
@Eternize5 ай бұрын
It doesn't necessarily "need" to be like this, it's just a natural result of distortion and squashing the kick in the final stages. Another point is that hardstyle is a very "busy" genre, meaning when the kick and lead is played together you will naturally see that as a squared-off waveform on the analyzer.

do you count the fundametal as the 0th ore the 1st harmonic?
@Eternize Жыл бұрын
The fundamental is what I refer to as "root note". The first harmonic after that is the 1st harmonic (odd).
@Jonnywmusic Жыл бұрын
@@Eternize Ive never Heard that before. Normal people call the fundamental the first Harmonie. You should probably calirify that some where.

But it's not one piece then? It's still layering right?
@Eternize Жыл бұрын
The entire low-end is one piece, that’s the point. Layering high-end is not nearly the same “problem”.
