I know that the lyrics of "Dear Hardstyle" might sound very corny. But there's actually some meaning behind it. The track is by Showtek. Back in the early days of the genre, they were the definitive largest artist in the scene. But then they dropped out of the scene, and focused on Big Room. Last year they made their comeback, and that track was expressing their love for the genre. I think it was beautiful, and definitely made me tear up when I heard it live for the first time. Defqon is an amazing experience, and I can recommend it very much!

This! The track is also kind of a ''sequel'' to their track ''Fuck the System'' which is probably the most iconic Hardstyle track ever made.

I have lots to say about this video. First of all thank you for checking out the Endshow and yes, it's kind of weird how the "Endshow" is not technically the end of a 4-day festival but that's just how they do it. During the video you asked about the totems, the pillars in the crowd. They in fact have speakers on them and they all play music. The proper music term is delay stacking and the totems are placed in such a way that the waves from each speaker does not create an echo, they are also placed under a specific angle which helps with that as well. Because of that Defqon can lower the dB in the back saving our ears and speakers. When it comes to Dear Hardstyle and how cheese some of the lyrics are... well ye. There are many people that visit Defqon each year, being there for every edition and just taking it in as it is but there's also huge amount of people that go there once or twice in their entire life because for them it means travelling across the globe for example and that costs shit ton of money. There are people that in that moment, during that track or the entire festival with each song they create a memory and experiences, even if they don't know yet but with each passing day, week, month or year this will come to mean something to them. And it makes sense that Showtek wrote that song out of all the other artists, they stopped producing hardstyle in 2012 and they recently got back to it with an album '360 Blue' (which I highly recommend, I think it's going to suit you perfectly). You briefly asked about DJs at Defqon1, there are and there are many many MANY of them. There are scenes called after their colors: Red, Blue, Black, UV, Magenta (with silent disco subscene), Indigo (with silent disco subscene), Yellow, Green, Gold, Orange, Silver and many others with over 350 different artists with their acts. So there's literally something for everyone there. Endshow, Spotlight(special highlighted performance, artists is picked each year to make a mega special show for their set) and Closing Ritual are prerecorded mix of music that (usually) are not out yet and are first played, showcased during that set and then later released under the Q-dance label. Anyway, have fun listening to hardstyle, community is HUGE and we all welcome new recruits.

Also some answers to the questions you had: - Defqon 1 is a 4-day festival in Biddinghuizen (the Netherlands) - The "Womp Womp" sound at the very end where you wondered what it was is the Q-Dance sound (the company behind Defqon) - The "gods" were each once a centerpiece of the stage in previous Defqon editions. This years stage was done as a 20 year celebration. - "Dear Hardstyle" while I agree the lyrics are corny af (as in most hardstyle) has a bit of backstory. The producers (Showtek) were some of the OG hardstyle artists wayy back in the day. They then left the scene for a long time and only recently came back to the genre, so the track has a bit more meaning behind it.

One thing to realize with the phones and people not going crazy is that the Endshow can be a pretty overwhelming experience and that people already have been going crazy for 3 days and still have 1 day yet to come. Its a lot, but in the end all worth it.

The endshow was for sure the biggest one. However, the shows on the other nights were nearly as big too. Thursday: The gathering On a smaller stage, but the fireworks and lasers expanded over the entire festival ground. Friday: Spotlight with Sefa and a full choir on main stage. Saturday: End show and Power Hour Check out Power Hour, you might have a lot of fun watching that. Sunday: Closing ritual Another amazing show to bring it all to a grand finale Check those out, you will not be disappointed.

Really love the reaction to this! I been to about 8 different festivals and events in Holland where Defqon 1 is located, nothing beats the vibe. Hearing out on your flavour pattern it would be super intresting to see your reaction to Sefa! He is doing frenchcore that is a sub-genre within hardstyle music. You can really pick whatever liveset from him you want but if I need to advise you to the best, check out: Sefa - Defqon 1 2022 or Sefa - Reverze 2024. Keep up the good videos, makes anothers man time filled with quality

Hey I’m going to this festival next year 2025. I’m also going into the lighting industry trying to get to do lights for events like this. I can wait to go.

You got some special show moments. On Thursday we start with the gathering. This is the opening ours of defqon. Only available to weekend visitors. On Thursday it’s called the tribute. The first day of Defqon ending with an honour to one track. On Friday you have the opening ceremony with daylight fireworks. On Friday evening you end with the spotlight. This is a full on dj set of a specific artist including fireworks. On saturday you got power hour aka 60 minutes of madness. Then on saturday evening you got the endshow. This is the biggest endshow of the weekend. Closing the main day of Defqon. And then on sunday it’s called sunday funday. With a day full of crazyness. At the end of the day you have the closing ceremony. This is the last x ours of defqon. For next year this will be 5 hours at the red stage. And after that you got the closing ceremony. This is the final fireworks show on sunday and after that Defqon is over and we need to wait for another year. Alle those shows are pre recorded. But for the rest of the days you have dj’s playing at the 11 stages.

Idk how to say this without sounding like "omg im so quirky and weird" but it's funny to see your reaction be so hyped towards kicks and synths I would consider "too soft" because of my taste in harder styles music. Maybe in a year or two you'll be losing your mind at songs I currently fw that you'd absolutely HATE currently lol
