Down and dirty detachable hard drive mount! Try mounting the scsi emulator to the inside of the sampler case with extra strong sticky back Velcro tape. It comes in a roll with both hook and loop sides and a protective film covering the sticky coating. Cut to required length then peel the protection film off the back of one side of the tape and stick it to the scsi box then peel the underside film off and push onto the inside of the sampler in a suitable place. I wouldn’t take it on tour but in the rack of a home studio it’s secure enough, but it can be detached and reattached as required without the need to drill holes in the case.

If you search online for sticky back hook and loop tape you will find a much better prices compared to searching brand names like Velcro

RaSCSI still has issues with the S1000, just as a heads up. I have one connected to my 3000XL, works a treat!

Hmmm this is curious. I have an S2000 and looking for an S5000 or similar. This could be handy rather than the internal SCSI2SD to switch between the two, though they do use different formats. Hm.

Big fan of your videos Bizzy. I've learned a lot from them, thank you 🙏 I have a RaSCSI setup and ready to use with my S3200XL. Now I want to create a disk image that I can save to/load from but I'm unsure how. If you ever get the chance would you be able to go through how to do this?

I have one to use with my Roland XV5080. The XV sees it just fine. I just figured out how to get the video out to work. I'm having trouble getting the WiFi to work, and keyboard/mouse are unresponsive. My life would be so much easier if I could mount these drives and get them to be accessible across the WiFi LAN. Still working on it.

Yes yes bizzy b love your videos learn so much & have got me back into my hardware sampler akai s5000 I had an external unit with a mangetic optical drive & hard drive in it, I opened it up & put the hard drive into my sampler but can't reconnect the magnetic optical drive to the SCSI ID cable & get it working could your hardware knowledge help me out as it was a great place to load up samples & keep as a backup, keep up the good work & content big up.

If mounting internally, does the Molex connector on the RASCSI also power the Pi, or do you need separate power supply for the Pi?

no , I think you will need power for the pi ( 5v)

I have scsi2sd and rascsi with v2 firmware, rascsi is muuuch better
