im already 100% excited about this test!! You're the current fuel testing expert my dude. As a kid I remember hearing of the type of stuff as if it was some type of myth, nobody really knew if any home breed fuel was a good idea, but now channels like yours will tell us for sure. Keep it up!! OS CV Nitro GANG!!!

I completely agree buddy and I'm just cleaning my fuel system out of all the gasoline that was in there so I might do a run video tomorrow in my underground since the weather has been horrible here it might be a little funny since my tripod is no longer alive lol

@@thebug4046 looking forward to it! Can you believe the weather today in NYC, it was almost 70 degrees F here. IT's usually about 30-40 F at this time. Weird, Thats why I drive a prius, Global Warming, JK. Could just be a natural climate patters, but it's unlikely.

I've done a very similar fuel mix in my 2.5. I used a splash of marvel mistry oil, denatured alcohol, caster oil from a pharmacy and a splash a acetone. It ran great, good temps and double the time on a tank of fuel.

Interesting I wouldn't think the Marvel Mystery Oil being a petroleum product of the blend with methanol very well but interested to hear a little feedback about this I'm using 85% hardware store grade methanol 5% acetone and 10% klotz castor oil as well as my favourite McCoy mc59 glow plug

They still have McCoy plugs in your area? Im in NYC and apparently they got discontinued :( Best plugs I've ever used. Fortunate to have 1 left in my stash from a while ago. I hope the fuel project goes well. I'm curious on the results and potentially start making it at home since my local hobby store closed down. Plus 1 on the Marvel Mystery Oil I use that in my engines as a after run oil since it pretty much looked & smelled the same as when I was using hobbico after run.

@@thebug4046 it might be because I was using denatured alcohol (50% ethanol 50% methanol) but that fuel has been mixed for about a year now and nothing separated except a bit of the caster, probably because I added too much. Or maby it mixed with the acetone and that allowed to to all mix together. Looking back on it now, it shouldn't have worked near as well as it did. I might try some more sketchy fuel mixes this week. I'm still disappointed I couldn't get my 2.5 converted to gasoline.... yet. Good thing I still have my trusty vx18 sitting around... lol. Ported and polished and ready for some new fuel mixes.

@@inoahmann7542 go for it man and gasoline has Different AFR'S then methanol Klean strip from the hardware store is pretty pure from what I understand get rid the Marvel Mystery Oil though 85/10/5 is what I'm using give that I try or with Ethanol

@@rubenmejia4881 They don't sell McCoy plugs in CT or Florida unfortunately. Quick tip: if you add a teaspoon of acetone to a gallon of fuel it will keep it fresh longer and if you add marvel mistry oil it'll smell like a candy factory although probably don't mix mmo with the entire gallon just into the car fuel tank.

Might try this on one of these bluecase OS LAs I bought for shenanigans.

I can confirm it works and quite well at that. If you have the patience to figure out what you're engine likes. Although I don't have the same engine so I can't say anything too specific. Just for laughs, if you don't care too much about your engine, put 1 to 4% marvel mistry oil in your fuel and the exhaust will smell surprisingly good. As an added benefit you're engine will stay very clean as well. Oh, and you may need a colder plug. I went from a hot plug to a cold plug although you will need a different heat level with any change in acetone content. If you tried to run a hot plug with 10% acetone you might get you're fingers chopped off by the prop. I cut my hand on the cooling head of my vx18 when I tried to run a fuel similar to this one because the engine pinged super hard. After the cold plug it started easy and made plenty of power. Just something to be aware of. Start with a cold plug and go to a hotter one if you get an rpm drop when removing the glow ignitor.

I'm not sure what's gonna happen but you can try for fun I suggest at least 20% or 25% oil content with that engine since it is plain bearing run with 5% acetone max
@TestECull5 жыл бұрын
@@thebug4046 Already ran it on Omega 15 and it runs fine. No need to run such a ludicrously high oil content, 16%'ll be fine. Especially for a $20 junkbin engine.

@@TestECull anything past 12% oil for rc cars is pointless there is no ganes to be had unless you're running airplane engines
