A quick tip on the wood finish it's not a defect rather a wire brush application done before the staining stage which accents the grain, it's beautifully done & I haven't seen any other case designer even attemp it as it's very easy to mess up if you get over zealous. The styling is great even though some case manufacturers are doing this airflow design.

Just want to say I do appreciate your camera quality and the shots you use are nice and cinematic, shows the products very well. Video quality is great!

This is a pretty cool case. Quite a number of attention to detail points (side panel notches, grommets, cutouts) and those fan brackets are really well done. A shame the case is so flexible with the glass removed, but probably still acceptable. The overall shape is not my cup of tea, but definitely a brand I'll be looking at next time I need a case.
@itsamememario5452 ай бұрын
Another thing worth pointing out is that in the H6 Flow, to squeeze down the size of the case the air passage in front of the front fans is curved and makes airflow a little awkward in theory. That's not a problem in the APNX V1 as you can see the the walls are straight
@jonathanryan99462 ай бұрын
Just of note, this case is designed around a top mounted 360mm AIO that in a push/pull configuration with 30mm fans on each side. That's why the motherboard can be repositioned down, to give you plenty of room for that AIO, and why airflow going up isn't a bad thing... if its watercooled with a top mounted AIO. This video went air cooling instead, which is useful data, so you'll know how it behaves if you don't watercool. However it also doesn't highlight what it's designed around either.

Even though I like dual chamber PC because of the insanely easy cable management. The main reason I like these cases over the PSU shroud ones is that you have room for fans on the bottom and top of the case at the same time. Which means WAY better thermals.

the Lian Li 011 style cases, along with the Hyte y60 and now this case design are trying to all do the same thing, push air around from the side panel while leaving the front panel clear so one can see all the cool internals. Air going around a 45 degree bend should lose less pressure than going around a 90 degree corner, so airflow should be better for this apnx or hyte 60, assuming same fans and setup is used in each. but i'm with you on the aesthetics, i like all three, but I like the lian li 011 style the best
@RafitoOoO2 ай бұрын
@HitMarkersAreFun yeah, I understand the physics but imo a pc case is like a piece of furniture, it will be in your desk all day every day, it should be something you're pleased to look at and that angle kills it for me. So I do some wood working on the side buy helping one of my friends who does it as a side job and you being picky on the quality of the wood made me laugh. Wood is like a wild animal. With pieces that thin and small trying to pick out perfect pieces would drastically increase the price and limit the amountproduced. Yes the pieces you shown too you may look bad but that something that can be very hard to control. There are tons of factors at play and we'll I'm petty sure that's minor compared to something like a pieces being cracked or having splints on them. All in all I think that case is beautiful and a great option if you want a wood esthetic and still want that fish tank look to it. Thanks for the great review.

I've Used Corsairs (discontinued?) Carbide Air 540 in 5 builds, Fractal North (just that bit too small, but elegant) and MonTechs King 95. None of them allow Arctics LF AIOs to be roof mounted. Maybe MonTechs and Fractal Norths XL versions will???? I really like the ease of building and looks of the King 95 and would use their PRO version in the future. The XL version if a LF3 could be roof mounted, the standard sized one if not. I also prefer front IO as dust is ever present where I live. My PC cases have all sat where I look at them, so form is as important as function.

I was always a fan of the NZXT H6 FLOW Compact for the lower front I/O but this case has higher air flow with less restrictive filters. The back panel lacks air flow as the holes are to far apart and restrict air and would say at most 40% air getting through. This case for me has to much room inside either on top and bottom of ATX motherboard and the H6 is more compact but lacks some airflow.
@jonathanryan99462 ай бұрын
This case is designed with a top mounted 360mm aio that has a push/pull configuration with 30mm fans on each side. So overall 90mm (ish) That's why there's so much room up top and why you can reposition the motherboard down. Plus why the airflow is designed to flow up. Unfortunately they tested with an air-cooler in this video, on a case designed for maximum aio watercooling.

Doesn't look/seem too bad but misses the mark on a few things you pointed out (and some you didn't). The price point is a little steep without including any fans. The build quality/flex should be better on something in that price range. The sad sad sad "accessories" box should be considerably better (extra screws, mb standoffs, bits, plastic clips, polishing/dust rag, etc) Lastly, I'm continually frustrated by these massive cases that don't support 420mm radiators. 3x140mm is barely bigger than 3x120mm. Either give us a tiny bit extra height or a tiny bit extra length. Since most cases that are made to fit 420mm radiators are considerably bulkier full tower cases, I find it curious that there's not many in-between cases that can fit one Even if not giving enough room for a 420mm rad, allowing 140mm fans on that side intake but then only having space for two is a travesty

I'm sorry but are pc sizes evolving backwards? All of my cases in the past 25 years were smaller than these "modern" things. Just look at all of the blank air volume inside. A waste of space that needs extra cooling power (and fan noise) to exchange the air inside. And don't come at me with the "go ITX" nonsense, just take a look at the N-ATX v2 case for example. It can fit a full pc in 15L without sacrificing a half motherboard...
