An excellent video! A word of caution- Although I did not witness this tidbit in your video, the fuse tap orientation is very important to be where the power actually goes through the fuse and not bypass it. Also worth mentioning, the new fuse being added must equal to or have less amp rating the original. Additionally, avoid tapping into critical power circuits such as onboard computer, air bag etc.
@hippopotamus86 Жыл бұрын
Not quite. The new fuse you install would be 3amp max for the camera itself. The original fuse will stay the same. The piggybacked fuse doesn't go through the original fuse, it spurs off of the connection before the fuse so it doesn't need to be less than the original.

@VIOFO-CS Жыл бұрын
When parking mode is turned on in the settings, there will be an icon of a car in the top left corner of the LCD screen (this just means the setting is on, not that it's in parking mode). When you turn off the car, the camera should enter parking mode within about 5 seconds. When it enters parking mode, the icon of the car will change to the icon of the chosen parking mode. So if you chose Low Bitrate, the icon will change to a video camera. Auto Event Mode will change to a stick figure. You can set the voltage to 12.4V on the voltage selector to protect your car battery.

What was written on that panel that told you the PWR-SOCKET(ACC-1) was ignition 12V and the ELEC-PARTS(BAT-2) was constant 12V?
@dial2fast4 жыл бұрын
The info I showed is an example of what's in my vehicle. The fuse label is a starting point to give you some idea which fuse you can test. Every make and model of car is different. You need to test it with a multimeter to see which fuse in your vehicle will give you ignition or constant 12V. This install require some basic electrical knowledge. If the person is not familiar or not comfortable with doing this, take it to a car stereo install shop and have them install it.

Wicked video thanks mate, I've just installed mine and when I leave the car the recording light and mic light stay on 24/7 is this normal ? Thanks 👍🏽
@pimpplayer4ever12 жыл бұрын
The mic light is normal since you need audio just in case someone breaks in. The recording light should stay on for about 30 seconds then after that it should start blinking fast, which means that is waiting for an event to happen.

Hey. Im using a teamgroup high endurance sd card. After about 5 mins of driving i got a very fast beep and then double beeps every few sec. Tells me to format sd card. I have done that in the dashcam and on the computer. Not sure how to fix it

Try another memory card. Sometimes they can fail (especially after a lot of use). If memory card checks out fine, then try restoring dashcam to factory default (go into settings), and see if that fixes it.

I have a question, I just set up my VIOFO A129 Duo with the hardwiring kit and was wondering if the power light stays on (on the cam) when in parking mode (when the vehicle is off) or does it go off or does the camera wake up once it notices movement outside the vehicle. Please let me know. Thanks.

Power light stays on solid when in time lapse or low bitrate. Flashes when in auto event detection.

@mpcp273 жыл бұрын
If you bought the Viofo hardwire kit and wired or properly, then just need to turn on the parking mode and select the appropriate options and it should work. It should automatically switch between parking mode and normal mode

Not of you wire or using the hardwire kit (which automatically shuts down the camera when your battery is around 50%.

No, it won't. And with hardware kit installed, it will not drain your battery even with parking mode on.
@mattdorsey22443 жыл бұрын
@@ViofoDashcamOfficial Your answer is wrong. The the hardwire kit has a feature that allows battery to drain until a voltage limit has been reached. It appears that your answer confuses draining a battery with killing a battery. That's too bad because this was a good question and your answer makes it look like you don't know what you are talking about.
@mattdorsey22443 жыл бұрын
Great question. I wish I could trust the answer from VIOFO ltd. One way to find out would be to read the current running through both red and yellow wires separately when parking mode is activated.

I see on the reviews that some of these cables have the ACC/Battery cables mixed up. Any way to check before installing it?
@Javii96 Жыл бұрын
I know this is 2 years old but in case others read this, i was one of those reviews, the ACC and Constant power cables were swapped inside the unit. I repaired it by opening it up and resoldering them in the correct location. But if you dont want to open it up and solder you could still verify this by just plugging the camera in and testing it before you run all the wires. You’ll know pretty quick if it’s not functioning right try swapping red and yellow.

@dial2fast4 жыл бұрын
If you want continuous recording and save space, then go with Low Bitrate recording. Keep in mind, the parking mode will shut down once it reaches the battery cutoff voltage to conserve car battery. So don't think parking mode will run for days.

I have a question, when it's in time laps mode and incase someone hit your vehicle...when watching the video of what happened, will it play normal to catch more details of what Really happened and not moving that fast?
@dial2fast4 жыл бұрын
When you play the video, I will be fast like you saw in this video. What you can do is play it with a PC video player that will allow you to pause and move forward/back frame by frame. Software like VLC player which you can pause and press E to advance by one frame at a time. If you want to make sure you capture what happened, use a higher frame rate, but the memory card will get filled faster.
