That’s actually a really good question. Personally, I would imagine that anyone who worked their ass off to achieve something would/should be offended at the thought that you were somehow “born” with it. obviously he wasn’t born with the ability to play amazingly out the womb, but he was definitely born with certain skills and viewpoints which allowed him to grasp music to another understanding and level , if you and ed sheeran at age 10 both started singing and writing music by the age of 20 ed would be immensely more talented and skilled
@Lalnasaurus8 ай бұрын
Nope anyone if they put enough time into learning something can become a master at it takes approximately 10,00 hours to master something, which over a 10 year period works out to be as long as practise and are comited to learning something for 18miniutes a day then in 10 years time you will be a master at that, so unfortunately your "if you and ed sheeran at age 10 both started singing and writing music by the age of 20 ed would be immensely more talented and skilled" doesnt hold up cause its not about the name or age of the person that matters, its all about the commitment as anyone as long as they are passionate and committed enough to something can becomes a master/ the best in their field of job@@johnnysinsmother3810

People would rather categorize skills as talent (implying that it is innate) so as to comfort themselves from the fact that such a skill (like singing) is a result of deliberate practice, persistent effort, and an unrelenting commitment to the craft. By calling hardworking blokes like Ed as talented (that he was born with the ability to sing beautifully), they can easily rationalize that they don't possess the same innate gift that he has therefore, it would be impossible to achieve the same level of singing proficiency. If only people would realize that any skill can be learned and refined through hard work, literally anyone can become 'talented.'

Telling a musician that they're 'naturally talented' feels diminishing. I can confidently tell you NO performing musician ever was incredible when playing their instrument for the first time. Being a musician is incredible hard work, and the more 'talented' a musician seems, actually it's probably that that arist puts in incredible amounts of time into practising.
