That’s actually a really good question. Personally, I would imagine that anyone who worked their ass off to achieve something would/should be offended at the thought that you were somehow “born” with it. There is nothing to be proud of when you are born with something. That’s just luck/genes/the universe. Frankly, anyone who does pride themselves on such things is rather the fool in need of pity, not admiration.

@@theouthousepoet That's the reason why I always get mad when people say "Wow, you are so talented at drawing. I wish I could draw like you but I am not talented." That's the point where I snap. I once had a conversation with someone that said exactly that and I replied on how he is mistaken and all he needs is to practise but he was like "nope, you need talent for that" as if he knew all about it, but he knows nothing about the struggle I went through to get to the point where I am now.

obviously he wasn’t born with the ability to play amazingly out the womb, but he was definitely born with certain skills and viewpoints which allowed him to grasp music to another understanding and level , if you and ed sheeran at age 10 both started singing and writing music by the age of 20 ed would be immensely more talented and skilled
@Lalnasaurus

Nope anyone if they put enough time into learning something can become a master at it takes approximately 10,00 hours to master something, which over a 10 year period works out to be as long as practise and are comited to learning something for 18miniutes a day then in 10 years time you will be a master at that, so unfortunately your "if you and ed sheeran at age 10 both started singing and writing music by the age of 20 ed would be immensely more talented and skilled" doesnt hold up cause its not about the name or age of the person that matters, its all about the commitment as anyone as long as they are passionate and committed enough to something can becomes a master/ the best in their field of job@@johnnysinsmother3810

People would rather categorize skills as talent (implying that it is innate) so as to comfort themselves from the fact that such a skill (like singing) is a result of deliberate practice, persistent effort, and an unrelenting commitment to the craft. By calling hardworking blokes like Ed as talented (that he was born with the ability to sing beautifully), they can easily rationalize that they don't possess the same innate gift that he has therefore, it would be impossible to achieve the same level of singing proficiency. If only people would realize that any skill can be learned and refined through hard work, literally anyone can become 'talented.'

@@knowthyself8563 you can't learn to sing because you are born with the voice. You can only fine tune it to become better. Same as people who run faster, high IQ, better looks. Same as a teenage chess masters. It's a lottery. When people say one is talented, they mean they are gifted and no way trying to undermine their hardwork of years. Me not so much too I’m not so much into his romantic guitar Ballard stuff but I really like it when he does those collaborations with other other artists and ventures out more into a other style like Pop or even Hip Hop or Rock, Metal. I really like this song he did with Chris Stapleton and Bruno Mars that’s a downright Rock song or the Metal Remix of Bad Habits he did with bring me the horizon. And own it with stormzy was also great. I also have the he really likes those projects where he can venture out into other music than his typical stuff. I would wish he would do more of this. I really like his voice but I’m no so much into the music he mostly does. Those guitar ballards are mostly boring to me and they quite similar but I think he’s self aware and knows that this is what he’s known for and a high percentage of his fans like this kind of music and it’s successful
