EP-1 BTS Thiruvananthapuram to Kanyakumari | Kovalam Beach | Mathoor Aqueduct | Lunch at Nagercoil

We reached Thiruvananthapuram - Trivandrum at 11.30 am and proceeded for Kanyakumari via Kovalam beach and Mathoor Aqueduct.
This Video was shot on 13 Dec 2023, Below are the activities we did on this day.
After reaching Thiruvananthapuram we travelled 14 kms to reach at Kovalam Beach. I also came here 5 years ago below is the link of the video

Vizhinjam Lighthouse - Then we headed to visit Vizhinjam Lighthouse but it was closed due to maintenance so we visited Lighthouse Beach. It’s a beautiful beach with cafes around.

Mathoor Aqueduct - After reaching Mathoor Aqueduct we had fresh Pineapple there.
Price - Rs 20
Mathoor Aqueduct (biggest bridge in Asia) was built in 1966 under the leadership of the former chief minister K. Kamaraj, this bridge plays a crucial role in granting irrigation water access to the residents of the hillside.
Snacks at Arya Bhavan Nagercoil- After travelling 28 kms from the Aqueduct we reached Arya Bhawan, Nagercoil and had some snacks & filter coffee there.
Mushroom masala dosa - Rs 165
Hotel Tamil Nadu - After this we ended our day at TTDC, Hotel Tamil Nadu is a Tamil Nadu government undertaking.

Varakala is now more touristy than Kovalam in terms of international tourists. If you visit Trivandrum, then take trains to Varkala, Kanyakumari, Monroe island etc. Its easier and less time consuming than road.

I wonder that how you missed Padmanabhapuram palace . Its the only Palace in south india made from wooden. The carving on it is just fabulous. Usually tourist company dont show this palace. But we just visisted this Palace while visiting Kanyakumari. Its a must see place. Dont ever skip it.
