How can it possibly have a Tele twang. Other than body shape there is nothing Tele about it. Even Fender Tele's with HB's don't have "Tele Twang".

I like your channel style. The T style has that belly cut, carve on the neck/body joint and the tremelo.... and the splitable humbuckers. It draws my attention a bit harder than the Suhr Pete model. I do have both of these in my cart on Thomann... along with a dozen more guitars. I have 4 HB's and that is almost half my collection, so i maybe should not get a 5th? At least i have tamed that urge for now. Not a fan of the bland black guitars, but the black just looks brilliant in combination with the dark cherry/maroon type back.

Could you compare the Fusion 2 HH with the Fusion 2 HSH? It would be interesting to hear the Roswell LAF (Fusion 2 HH) compared to the HAF (Fusion 2 HSH).
@gregorwalton3 жыл бұрын
I find the LAFs to be good vintage sound pickups. The HAFs are supposed to be higher output, but I don't find much difference. Actually they just seem characterless when clean out overdriven and not very distinct (notes merge into each other) when playing distorted or high gain

One deciding factor could also be that the super strat has Floyd Rose variants, while the T-style has hardtail versions.
@mountainman87754 жыл бұрын
Big difference that would come out in a band mix.... for a lot of pop, Indie and ambient music, the Tele will do it for you. The Pete Thorn copy on the other hand I think sounds best for rock especially for fusion overdriven, and modern country
@ronnienose86084 жыл бұрын
I would like the green one but after watching Agufish's demos of the latest 'T' style I have to say that the hardtail sounds the best. I was surprised, it just has a fuller and richer sound, more oomph (technical term, haha). So I'd love to own both, possibly both in metallic green, but would probably get the hardtail Fusion-T first. I love the one with the roasted maple neck but the veneer on the body puts me off, I think a different (preferably darker) coloured top would be an improvement. If it had the roasted maple neck and either the metallic green or the silver sparkle, then that would be awesome.
@bmrbca36584 жыл бұрын
Same. Would get a hard tail roasted neck black or green. The finish on the natural looks cheap.

There's an obious difference even with cheap headphones. The strat has a more consistent sound, the high and low frequncies are much tighter and present. The telecaster has a flatter sound, more mids. Did you check the wirings in both guitars? You might have some differences there also.

Sapele is often substituted for mahogany. Even manufacturers like Martin have used it in their mahogany body acoustics. Sapele is becoming more used because it is very similar to mahogany, but is faster growing and a more sustainable wood.
@Leo_ofRedKeep4 жыл бұрын
Mahogany is a very broad species denomination. Variations between regions, climates and even trees can be so significant that no generalisation can be made. Whenever wood makes a difference (and it does in acoustic guitars), it is still very much on a case by case basis. Even the top of a tree is less dense than its base.

I own and play both (real American ones), so I'm not biased one way or another. The strat one sounds brighter. It all depends on what music you're playing, so I don't favor one over the other. I just feel like the tele one looks cooler.

I like the stratocaster design more but regarding the sound, I think I liked telecaster slightly better. With gain they both sound identical to me. I only noticed a difference only in clean sound. Tele seems like it has a slightly richer, with more depth/bass tone while stratocaster was a bit sharper. Not an expert here, just a personal opinion. I wanted to buy one of these and I was confused what were the differences. Thanks for doing this video. :)

I would not buy two different style guitars with basically the same neck and electronics unless I was planning to either return (or sell) one or replace the pickups on one or both. But that's just me. Also, while it looks great on a PRS, I greatly dislike the cutout on this T style guitar. But it's nice of you to showcase each of them so consumers can make a choice. To my ear they sound pretty darn close. One thing I did perceive, however, is that it sounded like you had more reverb (or something) dialed in on your Amp when you played the T style.

Hey Tony, thank you for all your videos. Do you think it would be of any value to hear what different guitars sound like unamplified, what the pickups might be working with to start with as a way of knowing how much different guitar configurations and woods have to do with tone as opposed to just what the pickups get from mostly the magnetic sense of the strings? How much of what's there to begin with in terms of sound can the pickups translate to sound to the amp?
@addictedtogear4 жыл бұрын
I think its always a good idea to listen to the guitar unamplified so you can determine the level of resonance and natural sustain the guitar has. I think that sustain will be quite noticeable no matter what pickups are in the guitar. To me that is a more important factor of the guitar because pickups can always be changed if you don't like the tone but if a guitar is dead unplugged there is little you can do about that later.
