I have long been a fan of Tonerider pickups - unbeatable value and quality - I have various sets in my guitars but the Rocksongs are my favourite. Another good brand with more variety of models is Irongear.

Actually, if you are in UK, it's easy to beat Tonerider pickups. Iron Gear are cheaper and probably better

Well I am in the UK and have Toneriders in 4 of my guitars and Irongear in 2. Saying one is 'better' is pretty pointless as, to my ears, they are both excellent brands and no way would I say Irongear are 'better', they are just different. As with all things it is about personal preference, but I can say with confidence that both are of comporable quality (although my personal preference happens to be Tonerider).

Hi David, great playing! For sure the best with these new fusion! Just a question: have you ever tried superstrats like Ibanez AZ or Suhr? Because I'd really like to buy an Ibanez AZ that I tried and loved, but the price is really high. Can this HB be used as first guitar?

Hi Paolo! Thanks for the question and for the kind words. I haven't tried either of those guitars, but I've been looking at them for a long time. This guitar settled that desire a bit, as it plays fantastically. I think this guitar is a very good first guitar. You can get pretty much all useful sounds from it, and can grow with it. Thanks! The main disadvantage for me was the pickups. Please note that it will probably not be a problem for most people. Other than that, it plays great, has a lovely smooth feeling, and a sense of high quality. Hope it wasn't too vague of a description.

As far as I remember, I think I ordered the slightly wider one for the bridge (which seems to be the only position that needs it).

Hi Roland! The finish is called "Gloss Trans Flamed Blue Burst". This non-Floyd Rose seems to have the status "by request" on the site, from what I can tell.

For me, it made an important difference to the sound. The Roswells are for me very flat sounding and uninspiring.
