They should give you the option of a Road Glide, pick your power plant, like the car manufacturers did in the 60-70’s with muscle cars. 114, 131, 135. Or a budget 107. Come on man.

My 128 Screamin Eagle kit for my 107, I’ve gotten over 27000 miles on it. I obviously put S&S parts in it, but everything from heads, jugs, pistons, 64mm tbi & intake, clutch plates, & etc all Screamin Eagle-No complaints about its manufacturing quality.

Same here but no S&S parts. Ran with the HD Power and Auto tuner. Fullsac MX Exhaust. Put close to 25K riding all over the country from the beaches to the mtns in all types of weather expect snow. Very happy with the performance and get good gas milage until you get into the throttle but it's totally worth the gas money. Cons are it gets hot so not ideal for stop and go traffic, stop-light to stop-light riding or weather with temps 95 degrees +. Got to be careful with the throttle. Lots of torque going to the rear wheel and need to respect the power. Easy to slip rear tire in 3rd, 4th and 5th. Pros are the thrill of getting into the throttle and it screams like a beeping BANSHEE. You only live once, do it!

@@mojomanmurph1925 this is why Harley doesn’t offer these motors on their bikes stock. Heat is your enemy. These motors like a Jim’s 143 or any other are fast 💨 make great power but not daily riders. They break & anyone who knows anything about bike motors or motors in general. Will tell you heat breaks motors. So sure they’ll warranty the aftermarket upgrade. But you pay for it big time. And if you’ve ever dealt with Harley & their warranties. You’d know they aren’t worth shit. What’s more fueling & S&S are far superior to SE parts. Hell baker transmission, HPI throttle body, Rekluse clutch all aftermarket parts far superior to anything Harley SE

@@williamfrazier9664probably not so much a matter of size, but water cooled engines will be able to make more power if all else is the same. Hence, some bikes coming "twin cooled". As far as size goes, I'd imagine they'd physically run out of room in the frame before displacement/cooling was the issue. Just run a better oil cooler if it became a problem.

As a long time Ducati and BMW rider - these 135ci Harleys really impress me! I don't think these videos really show what a kick in the pants these things are! I rented a 107ci M8 Road King - rode it Seattle to New York. Just stock with OEM pipes! This 72-year old had a great time "racing" with all the people who foolishly think they are going to blow that big old Hog into the weeds! Until you have ridden one - you can't understand.

lean angle, weight, acceleration all factors that affect negatively the 135ci Harley. In a straight line any modern 1000cc would annihilate the 135 Harley. In twisties the KTM Duke 890 R will leave the 135 Harley miles behind, no need of the KTM 1290 Super Duke Evo. And for less money stock cruisers Triumph Rocket 3R or Triumph Rocket 3GT or Ducati Diavel V4 are way more powerful (hp), quicker and faster, have way better handling and have giant torque too instead of the overpriced 135ci with little 130hp.

@Peter Owning a motorcycle to me is nothing to do with "acheiving" something Peter. Neither is owning a 19-acres waterfront home with stables and a dock on your own road an achievement. For all we know you could have what you have because you inherited a bunch of dough. If owning more material stuff that the next guy is important to you - you are going to learn as you get older that material possessions do not make you happy. My dead uncle bought a brand-new knucklehead for $500 out the door in 1941. It was a 500-pound Speedster with a 61 cubic inch engine. It was Featherlite and came with a certificate stating it has been run to 110 miles an hour. Many roads in the old days did not have speed limit. When the Pennsylvania Turnpike was opens up you can get on it and see how fast your bike could go. The real truth is hardly spent makes more money with you upgrading your motorcycle that if it came equipped stock from the factory with what you wanted. Frankly I don't understand why anybody buys a factory Harley gets to throw away half the motorcycle and replace it with better part. All at the customer's expense

2200cc for 130HP... i get it, it's about the torque. but still, that seems like a lot of effort and a lot of motor and a lot of money for only 130HP. But to each their own i suppose.

That’s 130hp with the screaming eagle tuner. Who knows how much more you can pull out of it. I also agree with the basis of your statement though.

It's a blank canvas. Guys will put a good cam, a non epa compliant tune, and a good exhaust on it and will be well over 150hp and torque. There's already 200hp 131's out there

But what’s the point when there are better engine designs? A 1252cc sportster s is making 120hp…. Why just keep going bigger when you could get better.

@@kennethmatte9008 Life is not about peak numbers, shit drives me nuts when that's all people talk about. The torque curve, powerband, response, and feel from the Revolution Max is not going to be remotely similar to this pushrod 135ci crate, and that's not even factoring in the difference in sound. How often are you really pushing your engine's peak HP number? I'd wager never, even when you're riding like a real ahole. Everyone just loves to talk peak numbers but in the real world, on the street, they really do not matter. At all.

Wish you could walk into Harley dealer and order up the bike with this engine option. Then when you take delivery, you don't have to spend even more money on the crate engine and labor to get it installed. With the cost of the bikes being what it is, it's not really practical to take a new bike and pull the engine for a crate swap unless you can find a buyer for the OEM engine. Although in these days everyone finances everything so I'm sure someone will just put it on a credit card.

Good video and nice bike. Looks like it took the Indian Thunderstroke 116 cu to get Harley off their azz and make decent torque and hp. But then again, the Indian 116ci with cams, throttle body tune etc. will just about match this HD 135ci for less $$ and also be under factory warrantee. You can now also get a Lloydz 121ci Indian kit that surpasses the HD 135ci in a smaller lighter, more durable package. Ride safe and enjoy the ride.

I'm a fan of powerful cruisers. But I'm not a fan of lifting then. And it goes without saying that everyone wants that newest, biggest, baddest thing. But how much will the engines go before before it starts getting rediculous. The victory 106 was a stout engine. the HD breakout 114, was insane. Now they're putting out a 135? How powerful will these things get before people realize it's too much and they're breaking the back tire loose when they crank the throttle?

130 HP? Getting 110 from my 107M8 with Wood Perf Stage 2 xe cam, just 20 HP less than new 131 crate? A Trask super charger on a 131 with stage 3 would be pretty crazy.

nice video.. didn't really get into the feel of the bike with the 135. I was looking for comments on any extra noticeable heat, clutch and lever pull, is it noticeably heavier with the heavier clutch plates, etc. The RGST is a nice bike but what else does the 135 come with.. better cooling, etc? but glad you liked it. I am contemplating on doing a 135 on my RGST.

Will it fit a soft tail frame, I know when Harley first introduced the 131 it was tour bike frame only. I would love to fit one into my FXDR and then improve it. Great video I was thinking of upgrading from my 117 to a 131 now I will wait to see when the 135 is available.
