Harley Davidson Brake Lights are STUCK ON

I dove in and found he cause of my brake lights being stuck on, and I walked through what it takes to solve the issue!

Thank you. I installed some small front indicators under the handlebar controls. Had to take both Controls apart to integrate the wiring. When putting it back together I left a too big gap between brake lever and brake switch, brake lights permanent on. Thanks to your detailed video it was just one look and a quick fix.

Thank you, my rear brake lights on my 2006 RK were staying on and heating up, I worked the front brake lever and the brake lights started operating as they should. I am going to call the HD dealer and order another switch and or rubber cover. Life is good on my RK.

The book says to use a cardboard shim to protect the switch when re assembling. I had this issue after installing LSS shorty levers. I just put a piece of thick tape on the lever tang as a temporary fix. That temporary fix has been in place over a year ! My switch is intact though.

Man, and I’m always the first to say in these videos “check your manual” 🤣 lessons learned 🤦🏼‍♂️ my fix is still holding up well though

I'm having that problem with my Dyna Switchback but it's fine when I first start riding the bike but after about 60 Miles brake light comes on. Melting everything inside break light housing. I had to resort to using a bulb that won't work for running lights to keep from getting everything so hot.

Would putting dielectric grease on the switch rubber help extend the life of it as preventative maintenance do you think?

Would you have a part number. And would that part number fit a 2013 street bob

2013 is going to be different, because around that time they changed a lot of the electronics and went to CAN-BUS. I want to say the switch is built in to a circuit board on the later models, but I could be mistaken
