Harley-Davidson Cholo Softail Bagger? How will hard bags look on a Cholo Heritage Softail

Just stumbled upon your channel, nice work on this cholo Softail. The only thing I’ll mention, and this is just my own opinion, is that when these bikes have hard bags installed on them the rear portion of the bag should be flush with the back of the rear fender. Imagine putting a level just above the taillight and go side to side. Those mounts do not allow that. The only ones available that will do this are from Cyclevisions. Check them out to make this build even cleaner.

The bike looks fantastic, that's the way to do it keep it and pass it on. I just bought a 2022 Road King it's my first bagger. I will be changing everything! I have to save my money because HD stands for Hundreds of Dollars. lol, I have already done the 18" apes, chrome front forks, and cabling, moved the footboards out, changed the brake pedal, and lowered it 1 inch. Just to get the bike to fit! Next dual pipes, 21" and 18" fat spokes two-tone black and chrome. I used similar softail brackets to put 1995 RK bags on my Yamaha Road Star . I put the tabs on the brackets on the inside of the fender stays to pull them in tighter. I just used big rubber washers against the paint.

Don't know if someone already said it. La choppers has some angled bushings 5° n 10° that you replace your stock rubber bushings and you can tilt those bars forward or back. I have la chopper 14" tbars my 98 softail chopper and used those bushings to tilt the bars towards me. Now I can lay back on my king/queen seat going down I4 😀. I'm thinking of getting those bags for my 99 fatboy. Thanks for the vid!

Great look... DK products just installed some small led tail lights on the lower side of the bike. Just looking at yours and those supports for the bags might be an option (run, brake, and turn). Just passing the info along.

being able to put hard bags on a soft tail easily is really cool. i have been thinking about that if i was to get a soft tail. the bags look really good but for one thing that may not matter to you or other people but it would me and some may get upset that i point it out lol. the bags dont have black flames like the rest of the bike.... it still looks good , and i get what you mean about wishing they would slide forward more. its awesome that they work for a wide range of years. if you know someone with a mini lathe , they should be able to turn a brass shifter peg for you easy enough. good vid man

I had problem with my deluxe and it turned out to be just the line from pump to tank fitting cracked. Bought some lines replaced them and work great.

That's a bad ass bike a deluxe would look great with that addition . If I had to downsize I would probably get rid of first the sporty chopper then the black bagger and keep both hot rod red bikes and of course the wife keeps hers .

Mototeks is the only people who gave me the time a day on my '97 Road King. Built me a 21" front 18" rear fat spokes. Took forever due to COVID-19 times so I don't blame them. Fed Ex completely ruined the deal though. Delivered the wheels on my porch in a tweaker filled neighborhood, then held my rotors an hour away refusing to deliver without a signature. I'm like you just dropped $1500 of wheels on my porch, no signature. But $80 in rotors I have to drive an hour away to pick up with multiple forms of ID and a utility bill? I ended up ordering the rotors through Amazon. Got them next day. Mototeks quickly refunded the rotors. I give them huge props for handling the credit so quickly. Great company. Fed Ex though...... They can slurp a certain appendage.

It looks good 👍 I do have a softail fatboy I had smaller leather bags hated them infact they are coming off left side is off rt side tomorrow and it's cobalt blue beautiful color on this bike only 7.900 hundred miles on her stock but runs real good 👍 dumped all the $$$ into the bagger hardly ever ride the tail. I like the fact that you can see the rear wheel in front of the rear bags. If the bags were moved forward it would be hard to see it is a spoked rear wheel. Just my opinion.

The problem with the bags they don't flow with the rear fender. I think either fender needs reshaped or bags do. Don't know if a road king fender would work better.

Cobra fishtails are the best sounding mufflers on any of your bikes in my opinion. Wish you would do a video of slip-on Cobra fishtails on your touring models.

Nice bike. I'd change the seat out and find something a bit more streamlined but still have some comfort to it. Old school indicators on a tombstone type tree for rear oold school type front indicators too plus darkened or tinted headlamp tree

1939 ford or lincoln taillights mounted on bags. Extra taillighting plus turn signals. Speedway Motors has both. Surface mount LED. Would look kick ass on that bike.

I have hard bags on my softail. I couldn't care either way but, everyone seems to like the way the bike looks. In combination with 16" apes, 21" front 16" rear wheel with fat spoke wheels.

Mike bike does have a side dump exhaust to accommodate the hard bags. I'm not sure if the bags would interfere with a regular type of exhaust or not.
