Traded my RG in for a PAS 2024 to travel with 300lb less. Storage box on back and I am good for a whole day of riding. Awesome bike!

The handgrips are thin for a Harley and uncomfortably so for a long ride. I own a 2024!CVO Pan America. When I received mine, I took it on a 100-mile round trip ride, and even with a relaxed grip, my hands were fatigued. So, at least for my hands a larger diameter hand grip is called for. One workaround, since I am too cheap to buy a new heated hand grip, is a pair of gel-palmed gloves. Also, I immediately replaced the aluminum boxes with the soft-sided saddlebag Harley sells for the Pan America. It’s much easier to find a solid grip on the bike without the boxes attached if you drop it and have to lift it, and the soft-sided bags are waterproof and large-ish-capacity. I bought the bike as a CVO, because all-in-all you get a better deal and no supply chain issues purchasing the bike with all of the extras packaged as a CVO, and it matches my 2024 CVO Road Glide in legendary orange.

5:30 I'm pretty sure the hand guards are designed to come off so that you don't break your wrists when you go over the handlebars. If they were solid, your hands would get caught.

I had a 2022 for 2 years it ran Flawless. I added the Quick shift to it. I saw the 2024 CVO and loved the color combo. Picked up 2024 below invoice which was less than I pd for a fully decked out 2022 (minus the quick shift I added as not legal in CA) The problem with these bikes is the resale value sucks, plain and simple. If you don't care about $$$ fun bike. A low mileage used PAS can be picked up for $12- $13K. That is where you want to go get one.

The thing you're pointing out (a lot) aren't hinges. The SW Motech Trax cases use those little flexible plastic pieces as retention straps for the lid so it opens to 90 degrees and doesn't flop open. I've had them on my top case without issue despite very frequent use. If they fail, you can replace them with anything, including some paracord, if you don't like the OEM ones. The hinge is clearly visible attaching the lid and body and is quite sturdy.
@throttleblip98543 ай бұрын
Great to hear no issues. I wonder why they included 2 extra sets? I did like the rest of the bags. Super solid design and I'd consider retro fitting them to other bikes.

I tried a Pan America at a HD demo event. Very powerful, more power than any othe Harley and many other brands. Very smooth engine. Immaculate seating position. Fantastic air management, with zero buffetting. I would never take it off road, it is too big for that IMO. Is is a good looking bike? Nope. But otherwise, one of the most powerful, comfortable and versatile bikes I have ever rode. Not in my budget, I will keep my V Strom. 😊

Traded my RG for one of these. Love the RG, but this suits my riding area better, especially with all the shitty roads around me. Muscle car vs sports car is a good analogy. If I could afford to own both, I would.

All the dealers I’ve been to still have the pan America CVO they were allocated. I’m not sure who is going to spend the extra money on the paint when people are thinking they might take the thing off road (even if they never do).
@throttleblip98544 ай бұрын
Yeah I was asking myself that when it came out. You do get extra lights, better skid plate, and the bag which are super expensive. I think like you said most guys aren't doing actual off road so the expensive paint makes more sense than it seems like it would. That said, I'd buy a regular Pan and do it myself so im with you. It's funny they all still have theirs bc Timms had people looking for one and when they tried to get them on from another dealer those dealers wouldn't let them go.

As with 99% of full size ADVs they are more used as Sport Tourers. Actually I thought of getting a CVO Pan Am as a touring capable upgrade to my Sportster S. If you factor in all the extras it has it’s also a good deal. In the end went with a Low Rider ST but the CVO Pan Am is seriously cool and capable.
@scotthunter93323 ай бұрын

These bikes like 1250 gs, are 99.9% on road to heavy for anything other than gravel, and a Road king can do that, or off road the strength 💪 of Hulk Hogan. They are like most Adventurer bikes more comfortable on road than most touring bikes due to riding position and suspension travel.
@brucem8129Ай бұрын
They are very capable as off roaders. I have had mine crossing rocks lines where one, except maybe Bogan wouldn't go.

I think the real reason guys modify Pan Ams to be more road oriented is because HD failed to release the Bronx. I think leaving the Pan Am as an ADV bike is fine, we just need the damn Bronx already.

The paint job makes it look much nicer but it seems more like a scrambler-type bike without the more knobby tires. Too expensive for me to drop in the muck and rocks. It would be more fun to buy an old Goldwing for cheap and go destroy it on the trails.

In my opinion, it's the lamest model to wear the cvo badge. Weak paint no extra power, just some accessories. A nightster cvo would have been a better showing. I guess a livewire cvo would be worse. Welcome back, Mr.Snipes I'm diggin the logo.

I've owned 20 new cars since 2020 from a Honda Accord to a Boxster 100k. 10 new Ducatis averaging 35k. All bikes and cars never come with the best stuff. You talk so much crap about Harleys. It's really annoying. I've blown over 325k on mew Harleys. I find it stupid when a guy buys a Dyna and spends 20 k on engine work and suspension. I will spend 19k on a stock import bike and smoke most stage 4 Harleys. Already most people can't afford Harleys.
