I own a 2018 pearl white fatboy that I bought new from WarHorse Harley-Davidson in Ocala Florida. I absolutely love this bike. It's not hard to turn ffs. I whip this bike through winding roads at high speeds and yeah I get that a skinny will be easier but it's a fatboy! Ride it, get used to how it turns. The M8 engine has tons of power too. I have 2 cons that irritate me about this bike and thats the sound and the seat. You need to toss that exhaust immediately and the seat kills my tailbone after 30 minutes. So when he says it's comfy to ride, no it isn't! My 2 favorite pros are engine power and the Showa quick adjusting suspension. I raced motorcycles since I was 6 years old, I'm 46 now. I get compliments on my bike all the time. Many at stop lights asking what kind of bike that is.

Both generations of Fatboy have their pros and cons. If I had the money I would love to keep them both. The reality is the new models always have the advantage in technologies. In Fatboy situation the new model has ABS as standard, keyless, LED, automatic turn signal off, less vibration on handles, etc. Not to mention 114 new motor with much better torque. With that said the new model is undeniably a better bike in general.

I own a Road Glide and I recently test rode a Fat Boy. I was expecting having to fight it in the turns, and I didn’t really have any issues with it. It seemed to me, that I had to be a little more aggressive when cornering, but I never had to “fight” it. If that makes sense? I think it’s more getting used to it, than it is a fight. I didn’t make any continuous turns like a roundabout, but I made several 90 degree turns and had virtually no issues.

The M8 Fatboy’s take some time to get the handling down. When I first bought my 2020 Fatboy I thought I may have made a mistake and was upset because I didn’t test ride it. I got the 30th anniversary and there were not test rides on that bike and I just didn’t think I needed to either...loved the look so much of the 30th just went with it. Anyway, on my first ride I was like, hey this is a bit hard in the twistys but recalled reading many reviews say you just had to get used to it and it would become second nature. I have about 300 miles on mine now and I love it and feel like I’m getting it down in the corners. I also have a 2020 RGS and when I jump on it I do feel it is easier to lay into a corner, not necessarily better, just different and I’m ok with that. I will say the Fatboy has me grinning much more then the RG does when out and about.

A big rear tire has nothing to do with choppers, and it is not "old school". Ya'll should have compared the newer one to an older Fat Boy that didn't have the ugly fat tire. It's not much of a comparison, like this. The 2003 Model would have been a great bike to use, especially being carbureted.

I don’t care about going fast too but the evo is just too slow for modern traffic where torque and power could get you out of sketchy situations. I use my evo on short solo rides and the tc on long group rides. It never lets me down on overtaking. My evo however, i had to think twice before i commit. Theres one incident where a shitty ass old corolla decided to not let me pass and started accelerating when we were side by side. Man if only i had my tc that time, i would’ve passed him even without dropping gears and put bus length gap on him. Like i said, I’m not about speed when riding but its better to have it and not need it rather than need it and not have it so I’d pick the tc for classic look feel and power if i could only have one. The M8 Fat Boy is far superior to that older twin cam Fat Boy! No comparison! You put a Stage 3 or Stage 4 on that M8, and it will wake right up!!

I had a twin cam fat boy for 8 years loved it but it was always a bitch to turn in because the tyres were to fat compared to other softails I had and dynas when I tested the m8 again same pro won’t turn in Kia the front tyre that is too fat I reckon a smaller tyro on the front would solve this

I agree that the front wheel is probably just a bit too big. Thanks for watching. Cheers.

1990-2017 model looks waaay better. What were they thinking? They ruined the damn thing. Current gen Fatboy needs to go on a diet!

My 2019 fat boy 114 stage 2 kicks ass and I get looks n compliments all day long,and I have no problem in turns. You are comparing a bone stock bike to an SE give me a break. Video sucks

The simple truth is because people are still comparing the Fatboy to the revamped something else entirely does not votvwell for the new machine and only galvanizes what I’ve already said. HD made a huge mistake stealing the Fatboy moniker after killing off the Fatboy. This bike might enjoy higher sales had it had an original identity and not one it poorly imitates

Old look is way better... is it possible to replace that awful nacelle with one that is retro like on the 2011?
@vincentrivera45334 күн бұрын
I don't understand the "you have to fight the turn" argument about the fatter tires. To me, in my personal experience with the fat tire m8 fat boy, the problem is more with the lean angle than the fat tire "fight"..."typically speaking" 😂😂
@davebarnessr.58052 жыл бұрын
I don’t like the M8 totally redone bike “they call a Fatboy “ it don’t have the flavor or the look. I’m my mind the Fatboy was killed off. Keeping only the solid wheels don’t make it a Fatboy, nor does it look near as good. Yea it’s faster, but if it was all about being faster? I’d buy a fuckin Yamaha, which is as soulful as the new generic namesake, No Thanks!
