This is an instructional video on how to remove the factory led lighting and replace with your favorite color. I am not a electrician and do not accept and liability or responsibilities if you damage.

Thank you !! I’m doing mine right now . I didnt have a marker so I took a picture of board closeup . The beveled side is pretty easy to see . I’ve found so far the hardest part is soldering the new light on . Getting it to stay still in the right spot but all n all its going pretty smooth . Thank you for the lesson!

what year gauge? I was watching another video, that shows the gauge plate popping out....I will attempt this on my 2004 flh to change the led. But curious about the plate...I would like to reuse it..and not damage it. Thank you

Thanks for this video. I just did this to mine. I'm curious as to how you ensure your needle is at true zero on re assembly? I put mine back on and plugged it in and it moves off zero when powered up.

The led’s on the speedo are ok. It’s the speedo needle itself that’s not lighting up. Is it internal on the needle or what? Don’t want to tear into it until I find out.

Which ones do you actually replace if you are wanting to change colors? All of them? Certain ones. All the videos I’ve watch have only shown how to do one and not specific ones.
@jamesfreels67686 ай бұрын
I put these in, same ones you show here. They don’t seem as bright as the factory. Now I don’t have them back in the bike, but they immediately appear much more dim. Thoughts?

can you please tell me if that gauge faceplate is silver or white? can't quite tell from the video. thanks. i've been trying to find a white gauge that looks OEM but i've only been able to find silver. but if silver actually looks kinda 'white' then that might work

How many leds are there in total?
@kristibrown31357 жыл бұрын
I've done this on a few bikes now. Recently dismantled a gauge from a 2005 road glide and it looks completely different. the needle led's are SMD's but the others are not. can you change the non surface mounted diodes ?

I changed mine on my 20/20 road glide the gas and the voltage gauge lights up and turns off but my speedometer and tiger stays continuously blue what did I do wrong please help me
@actfitwil8 жыл бұрын
By the way Thanks for the video. you can get them done from a guy name Marty but you;ll have to send your gauges to him and radio and hope they don't come back broken. I would rather try myself. If you don't tinker with things already you may not want to try this at home. but no need to trash what others share..

How do you power the lights up without plugging them into the bike I am doing my lights but want to check on my work before plugging them into my bike?
@nicktudor74785 жыл бұрын
RIPPAS77CLASSIC to my knowledge that’s the only way to test it unless you know what the voltage and run a separate power supply. I tested mine while the bike was still apart by just plugging it in and turning it on. No need to put it all back together just to test it.

Do you know what size led to use for a neutral light on a 2008 Sportster
@rudyhinojosa7607 Жыл бұрын
Gonna try it
@rudyhinojosa7607 Жыл бұрын
I found that it's easier to just use the existing solder it's faster and cleaner..I had 2 LED not making good contact so the rest of the lights didn't light up. Once I reheated them .they all worked good

Where’d you purchase your LED chips from? Also, the small needle LED’s, did you swap them too, as they’re much smaller?
@oTHEBIGBADWOLFo2 жыл бұрын
hey man, just wondering if you ever figured out the smaller leds around the needle? i need to order some of them for my gauges but not sure what the part number is?
@Darren43412 жыл бұрын
@@oTHEBIGBADWOLFo I did. Swapped them out myself. Bought from lighthouse LED’s. Was easy to do and looks great.
@oTHEBIGBADWOLFo2 жыл бұрын
@@Darren4341 any chance you have the part number for the smaller ones around the needle, from lighthouse? /
@Darren43412 жыл бұрын
@@oTHEBIGBADWOLFo Either 0805 SMD Red, or PLCC-2 SMD Red. I think it was the 0805’s or else I simply used the others as well, as they fit too, just was a little tougher to solder cause the pins were closer together because of the OEM smaller LED’s.
@Darren43412 жыл бұрын
@@oTHEBIGBADWOLFo Update…I found the picture I took after the install. I used the same LED’s all around, the PLCC-2’s all around.
