Im just goiung to get like a honda shadow for my first bike to practice on for a year or so. That way when I decide to get a Harley I will know how to handle it,ride it and deal with certain situations without dumping the bike. I would freak out if I dumped a harley, let alone pay for the fixing of it ;). Thanks for the advice man.

took my 2016 883 with VH shorts, high flow cleaner and FP3 tuned, to 100 MPH on the Gardens State Xpwy last weekend. she had a little left in her, but I can tell you it was windy as FCUK! I probably wont do that again. it took a bit a muscle and a slightly bigger set of hairy ones! this bike is definately not for high speeds, but she sure is fun. worth every FCUKin penny!

The rev counter is a Harley-Davidson aftermarket item, it costs around £340 for the kit, you then have to buy a separate handlebar clamp to mount the dual instrument bracket, that costs another £42. I have dual instruments on my 2011 Iron 883, I think they look a whole lot better than the stock single speedo.

@95beretta I ended up picking up an '08 Nightster with only 1,000 miles on it. I practically stole it. It already has the forward controls and Rush slip ons. It has to be the best bike I've ever owned.

@95beretta I have a '12 Iron, I have 6'2'', and I fit fine, feel comfortable on it, and have yet to hear i am too big for my bike from anyone that has seen me on it. I did get fwd controls though, which are a lot better if your 5'10" plus IMO. Unless you want mids that is.

Have you done the Vance and Hines FP3 pack yet? If not, I would buy a hi-performance air filter and the FP3. You will notice better performane (so I have heard from Revzilla and several motoblogers). I am about to buy a Iron myself and have done a lot of research on the iron and if my purchase does not already have hi-performance pipes, air cleaner and the FP3, that the first mods I sm going to do. I mist likely will buy used and a lot of used bikes on the market have the particular mods already done. Do some research and decide for yourself. BTW, your mods are cools. I really like what you have done with it. I love it!

Oh, I learned you can buy a hi flow air filter for that stock air cleaner if you haven't done so already. I love what mods you have done to your bike. Mine will be very similar to yours right down to the factory fuel gauge. Grear job. Enjoy and be safe!

Im moving up to a harley. Currently riding a rebel 250 and it just doesn't have it anymore. I like the price on the 883, but hows it do freeway and longer rides? If I road the rebel longer then 20miles by the time I got off I was shaking like a leaf!!

Raj....I have a sportster 883 iron 2013..I've seen your video regarding the sportster and I particularly liked your twin speedo and Tachometer dials. I would very much like to have this set up on my 2013 model, but I have been told by various Harley sources that this is not possible because the electrics are not compatible with my 2013 model......any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
