I'm currently saving for a Harley, and have my xjr1300 for PT ex so hoping to have a Harley by this December, I'm swinging towards a street bob but also have in mind a fat bob (used to have a fatbob from new 14 plate sorry I got rid) so have plenty of time to make my mind up, I'll be looking at second hand as I learnt buying new I lost 2 to 3 grand soon as I left the shop.

I'm coming up to 2 year and 5000 miles, Only did the stage one for the V&H mini grenades, Saddleman seat, 2 ft Sissybar, Engine crash bars, Memphis shade Gauntlet headlamp fairing a must for wind protection, Different grips and Memphis hand guards, wouldn't change it for the world wanted a softail for 30 years and never disappointed when i feel the torque this offers, i ridden a lot of bike and the 114 M8 is the best, many may disagree but for me its a real muscle bike, i'm not interested in 150mph, i just love to cruise at what ever i feel the mood to do and its generally never over 90-100 mph, on the Harley im good at 60 all day long. Love your review buddy many smiles per gallon i say

Thanks Gavin appreciate your feedback. Yes i agree the 114 is a great motor with a fantastic feel full of torque. Yes its definitely a muscle bike for me too. The stage 2 increases the torque like you wouldn't believe. Stay safe mate.

Good to hear your thoughts after nearly 2 years. My Street Bob is coming up to that point as well. The only thing I'd have to say is when choosing a cam for stage 2, go and talk to your Harley dealer or expert in the area. Ignore the dyno charts and all the bullshit people post. There are cams out there that will keep the low down rideability plus still give you the Stage 2 power. Ask the people with the experience, talk to them about how you ride and see what they recommend. I think I've mentioned to you before that in my opinion the 475 is one of the harder cams to tune. They go a lot better in a bagger with slightly more back pressure in the exhaust. Any future plans for mods? 135ci kit maybe ;)
@timfinning Жыл бұрын
135? Think I would need a support vehicle to carry fuel around for me 🤪 I love the cam but can get a bit annoying around town. I'll have to check some different cam options anything you recommend? Really considering going back to stage 1 just for the ridability, would definitely miss all that power though 👍

@@timfinning I've got most of a 131 kit ready to go. Just need to track down some barrels for cheap. You need to look for 'torque' cams to keep the rideability. You lose power in the very top end but most people hardly ride in that area anyway. Something like a Zippers Redshift 472, Woods 470, Cyclerama 470, or even something milder like the Sreamin Eagle 447.

@@kirkj85 Thanks mate, Ill check these out. When i first wanted to get a cam i was considering the S n S 465 as i heard they produced really good down low torque. Ill be very interested to see what you think about the 131. Stay safe mate.

Good insight about the Stage 2 liveability. I've got a Low Rider S so have the bigger tank but you may have convinced me with the roundabout jerkiness. Might just stick with a tuned Stage 1 and still get 300+ to a tank
@timfinning Жыл бұрын
Mate the power gains are awesome but yes you do give up rideability slow speed isn't very good. Thanks for watching James appreciate it 👍

Thanks for the review. I have the same motor and cam as you do in a heritage. I had a dyno tune which made the bike run terrible. I purchased a powervision from fuel moto with their tune and the bike runs great , huge difference and getting almost the same mileage as I did on the stage one. Highly recommend fuel moto as their tunes are awesome , took away all of the jumpy throttle and tunes are all free if you change pipes. Thanks.
@timfinning Жыл бұрын
Thanks Mike, I've had mine dyno tuned a few times now it's just the first part of the throttle which gives me a bit of grief other than that it runs pretty good. I did consider the power vision a while back. Thanks for watching appreciate it 👍

Did you consider the low rider s? I'm stuck between choosing between those two
@timfinning Жыл бұрын
Yes I actually did and nearly did but I couldn't justify the cost here in Australia. 👍
@den_525 Жыл бұрын
@@timfinning oh right, if price wasn't an issue would you have picked low rider s? I mean I'm also trying to justify the $5k difference. I feel like the bigger engine now (probably same when you bought yours), is worth $1k more? bigger petrol tank? better overall bike?
@timfinning Жыл бұрын
@@den_525 yes I probably would have. But the Street Bob is still a great bike and I don't have any regrets.
@den_525 Жыл бұрын
@@timfinning Yes of course, i'm still undecided but thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.
