Was a nice trip down through Wagga Wagga. Happy I snapped up the bike quick, ironheads are getting pretty hard to find for a decent price in Aus

not sure what I'd do but definitely start by tearing it apart and going full chopper, which I think you're already going to do ... looking forward to this build cause I'm sure it's going to be awesome!

I think I'll start with fixing all the mechanical leaks then strip everything off the bike for the hardtail conversion 🤟

Cool brother my first Harley was just like that until I road it to work down the motorway to many times and blew the piston. Then into my lounge for rebuild lmao what a way to learn. Looking forward to seeing what you do obviously hardtail and chopperise it. All the best brother

Looks like the bloke that owned it was a frustrated Shovel owner ... tank, risers , seat, etc. Those bikes were a doddle to work on ... Just take a tool kit with you on long runs. You'll have a lot of fun... maybe go the weld on hardtail/chopper route.
@TheGingybeardMan2 жыл бұрын
Definitely will be doing a weld on hardtail. Previous owner said they're a high maintenance bike. It won't be the daily ride that's for sure 😅
@sidneysnottley64142 жыл бұрын
@@TheGingybeardMan Had a '71 - used to regularly shit valves, loose gear selection (used a hammer to 'tap' the case - jarred the pin into place) and dodgy electrics. I wish I had it now - alot of fun. The current HD I ride is predictably reliable, comfortable and fast ... and dare I say a little boring 😄

How do you guys go with engineering hardtails in NSW?
@TheGingybeardMan Жыл бұрын
You have to have the welds gone over and certified than have an engineer go over the frame and issue a certificate. Or you could do what alot of people do and just chance it.
@buck_the_atlas Жыл бұрын
@@TheGingybeardMan Its a pig to engineer a hardtail here in VIc so most people chance it... but we don;t have have yearly inspections like you guys.
