You can remove the rubber from the passenger foot pegs. And when you go off road just put the rubber from the drivers pegs into the passenger pegs so you have a safe place to store them while you are off roading.

Another awesome video! The footpegs have another uncommon feature. They are the same size and shape so if you lose one or decide you want to move them, they are interchangeable from rider to passenger! Also, the “turning headlight” feature (first seen on the Tucker automobile of 1948) is called an adaptive headlight. It comes on the Special but can be purchased separately for the Standard. The only other one I have ever seen for a motorcycle was an aftermarket one in 7” round and cost over $800. I have to think the little bit of light leak at the top is deliberate. It is a constant reminder that you have this cool headlight! That dash is really entertaining as you ride under a set of streetlights! I am amazed at how fast it changes! Also, for those of us with short legs, Harley sells a 1” shorter and narrower seat (I love it!) and they also sell a 1” taller seat. Add the two positions and you have a total of six possible seating positions!

Countersteering pretty much makes Adaptive Headlights (see BMW Motorcycle offerings) useless if we think about the geometry of it all. But then no one I have seen on KZbin pays any attention to actually performing CounterSteering except MotoJitsu who has several episodes on this Crucial Element of MSF training.
@BlueRidgeRider Жыл бұрын
@@quidestnunc9238 wow. You truly have no concept of what countersteering is. The headlights on the Pan Am are fixed to the fairing. The adaptive headlight is activated by bank angle. Countersteering is how you get that bank angle. Most people do it without understanding or thinking about it. Even so, if you had an adaptive headlight mounted on a fork it would still work based on lean or bank angle of the bike. Countersteering is counterintuitive. You are traveling in a straight line. Then you turn the handlebar by pushing a slight pressure on the grip. I you push the right grip the front wheel points to the left. That causes the wheel to go left for a split second. The rest of the bike rotates around its center of mass. This is the bank to the right. You then correct by not pushing on that same right grip. If you didn’t stop the rotation, you would fall over on your side. Instead you stop the rotation at your desired bank angle. This happens every single time you change direction. Every time.

How do interact w navigation? On your phone or on the HD screen?
@MCCJustMotos3 жыл бұрын
In order to get navigation on your screen on the Harley Davidson and not on your phone you actually have to open the Harley Davidson app on your phone. You can have your phone screen set something else up at the Harley Davidson app Hass to be on. You have to set the navigation and all the way points and everything like that through your phone it just displays on the screen on the motorcycle itself.

The fuel cap is rough in California where stations are required to have a big vapor-recovery boot at the nozzle. The boot and cap need to be navigated around - as the pump won't deliver until the boot is retracted (which the cap prevents). I have to hold the boot back with my left hand, and deal with the nozzle in my right. Can't fully insert the nozzle so every CA fueling is a dance.
