I don't know about "mentally healthiest"... have you read the Murphyverse, aka *"Batman: White Knight"* ? In short, Joker is gone and Jack Napier is back, and it's awesome. I've read the first few titles, like "Batman: White Knight" (8 issues miniseries), "Curse of the White Knight" (8 issues), "White Knight: Harley Quinn" (6 issues)... ... but then I kinda lagged behind for "White Knight Beyond" and I haven't even gotten started on "White Knight: Red Hood" and "White Knight: Generation Joker", so I don't know if the later titles hold up... But it's a great little corner of DC Black Label that I highly recommend to every Batman fan, at least the first miniseries deserves a shot, and then you decide if you like it or not.

@@randallflagg3700 Jack isn’t the Joker, Joker is more like an dominate alter ego. In this universe people like the Joker are idolized. He’s actually pretty normal since the whole worlds messed up. He also changed back into his alternate personally in this universe, that’s how he met Bethany.

In my opinion it was eventually going to happen. Bethany has a gun and didn't hesitate in threatening Joker with it although it's uncharged. About the children, well they love him and probably sometimes are "bad kids"
