by the measurement chart on the website the Large was a big big by a few inches for me, but according to the bust and hips it was huge, but ended up fitting me snugly length-wise when i put it on. Height is the most important and if you can get that a little to big it's perfect. and i know from past experience, the first harley bodysuit i made I ordered 2 medium suits and they ended up being waaaaay to small by the time i cut them up and sewed them back together.

And if you look closer at that body suit you'll also notice that it is dreadful, and a horrible recreation of the character's bodysuit. But you prefer taking it easy then by all means. My tutorial is for those who appreciate good costuming and staying true to the character.

Right now Walmart has the exact fabric that the body suites you used are made out of. I made two Harley costumes one out of each side of the body suits so they look yin and yang for me and my sister. So being able to buy more fabric for the hat and the diamonds and the shoes was really helpful.

This is exactly what I was looking for!!! I’ve been wanting to cosplay classic Harley for so long but didn’t know how to make the suit and all the ones I’ve seen online didn’t look how I wanted them to. YOU’RE MY SAVIOR!❤️❤️❤️
@AxcelerationDesigns11 жыл бұрын
indeed. i did think of that, but for me, it really is easier to make it all one piece. that way i'm not worried about the gloves moving or showing my skin, i know they're always right where they need to be. as for eating and touching things...i dont have an iphone so i don't the touch of skin to dial or text. and when we go out for lunch i always carry a shirt in my backpack, take off the top part of my costume and put the shirt on. that way i can eat and am not worried about it getting dirty.

Milanoo has always worked for me and all my friends who purchase from their website. I'm only suggesting what worked for me. Everyone is welcome to do their research and maybe find something better (in quality and price) and if they do I'd love to hear it :]
@AxcelerationDesigns11 жыл бұрын
fabric would totally work. It's just a little more work and I like the bodysuits mainly because I want everything to match and i couldn't find a good fabric that i liked. The bodysuits are made of spandex. Any time of spandex / polyester or blend of the two will do. anything stretchy really. I personally liked the shiny look, but you can go with a matte fabric, anything you like :]

Love your work on the costume! One thing I want to ask about is the gloves. Wouldnt it make more sense to have them separate from the body suit? You could use finger loops to keep the sleeves snug and the ruffle to cover the cuff of the glove. That way you can easily replace the glove if it gets damaged. (you'll be holding things, touching things, etc and they will get damaged). Just a thought. Cheers!

the suits i bought were a lycra/spandex blend so yeah. definitely test it out on a scrap fabric and adjust the tension on your machine if you have to. I had to play around with the settings the first time I used the fabric and needles to find the right combos.

very helpful ! thank you! I had bought the one from the Halloween store online a couple years back and was very disappointed to find that the colors were wrong D: and had the opposite pattern on the wrong sides. plus it was a strange velvet texture, I wanted to make one but never knew where to start, this is awesome ! Much appreciated!

Thank you for your comment but I've never had a problem with milanoo. They deliver within 1-2 weeks of my purchase and the only reason mine has ripped is because I cut up the body suits and my seams broke. I took a look at the river's edge dancewear site and their "Harley" unitard was not accurate at all. The other unitards don't have feet or hoods either and are the same price as milanoo. I agree it is better to buy US, but as far as poor quality, milanoo has never let me down.

Hey Axceleration Cosplay! I followed this tutorial when making my Harley costume, and I was wondering how you wash your costume? I made mine about a year ago and have worn in 4-5 times and needless to say I can't put off cleaning it any longer! Following your tutorial has made making my cosplay soooo much easier. The only thing I wont put into mine is the hood because me personally my face will get claustrophobic. I'm gonna gonna go for a blonde pigtail look. my suit right now doesn't hug to my back where it curves in, it just stretches over it and makes my back look very flat. any tips on how to make it fit there?
@AxcelerationDesigns8 жыл бұрын
+Boop muffin you need to take in the waist. So the horizontal seam around your belly needs to be smaller. Then the suit will curve to your back. Careful to not make it too small or else it might rip when you bend
@Anna-sp6dl8 жыл бұрын
How much did this cost to make in total? I've been wanting to do a Harley Quinn cosplay but none of them seemed good. I don't have any experience with sewing either, so I'm extremely nervous about this. No one is willing to make me one either so I'm sorta stuck
@janesmith41678 жыл бұрын
Anna try looking on etsy. lots of people sell accurate cosplay. sometimes buying supplies will cost more than paying for some1 to make u one. it's really up to you how much U want to spend,
@latinmiscreant82868 жыл бұрын
im not the best at cutting precisely and I REALLY don't want to order a new one, so would it be easier to cut the suits vertically first, and then once they're sewn, cut it horizantal?
@AxcelerationDesigns8 жыл бұрын
+latin miscreant cutting either way is the same. Ones doesn't make either easier to do. Just measure well and do it. Odds are you'll need to adjust it to fit you correctly anyways.

It was stretchy so it just fit. You can always cut the zipper out fit it correctly then add a zipper back in

That turned out very beautiful and well-made, but just a question. Do you have any advice for someone just beginning in everything related to cosplay? I'm completely new to creating my own costumes and all that jazz and I really wanna be Harley Quinn for Comic Con etc, but I'm so worried about sewing stuff especially considering I don't have a sewing machine. Any advice?
@Vampiregrl12349 жыл бұрын
how do you pin it to fit you? if my crosses end up a little crooked, how would I fix that? I'm very new to sewing.
@AxcelerationDesigns9 жыл бұрын
+Amanda Morris you pinch in the fabric at the seam to where it is snug and secure that mark with a sewing pin. do that all over then you'll know where to sew it smaller
@TheRameyFuzz11 жыл бұрын
Alright, thanks! I'll be sure to save it for later.
@AxcelerationDesigns11 жыл бұрын
For the most part since spandex is so stretchy it's usually very comfy :] secondly, about panties... I personally HATE panty lines i think it looks trashy and ruins a costume! I know in this vid you can see my boyshorts >< but I do have special undies just for this costume. I got them from Victoria's Secret and they are 'seamless' so look for those for any tight bodysuit costume. Soon I'm going to make a 'guide to underwear' video that will answer all these types of questions :]

Hi, I'm Shannon and I'm creating my own Harley soon: Derby Harley. I've been looking into using metallic/shiny spandex for making the top and bottom. It looks like you're using metallic/shiny spandex. How do you find that it photographs? I really feel like metallic fabric really flashes and says "Harley!", but my worried is that it would be too shiny. I've also been considering stretch denim for this reason.
@AxcelerationDesigns8 жыл бұрын
I have found that it photographs nicely. But then again it depends on the photographer as well. But i love the metallic colors

I am so sad right now! I have been wanting to be Harley for years and finally ordered my body suits. The red one just came in and it fits for the most part. It is fitting everywhere BUT from my forearm to wrist, slack at my ankles, and slack from my neck down my torso. Is there anyway This could still be possible to do. As far as the Diamonds I am just concerned of the upper arm and calves if I have to cut and resow. The body suit is mix matched at the waist, ankles and wrist where I have slack. Also I am new at the sowing thing I have a new sowing machine to try out. Should I go for it or just use the body suit for a different character?
