I thought the same thing. Immediate flashback to the cop getting blasted in the face with glitter and... omg it was buckshot the whole time, wasn't it?
@luust40052 жыл бұрын
No, the police station scene is what it is: Harley taking down cops armed with a grenade launcher, but instead of grenades it launches glitter bombs, smoke bombs & beanbags. It's her fun gun for a reason, that's her style, just like Joker using laughter smoke for a terrorist assault. This scene is different because you can see she's having a meltdown. She's serious the whole scene, the lyrics of the song playing talk about feeling sad and lonely & she's clearly reminiscing her relationship with joker, that's what sets the tone for her getting into her own head & censoring the blood for herself, putting flowers instead because she's trynna hold back her meltdown & go into her happy place (which is flower-y feminine violence)

The DCEU was filled with expertly directed moments of action, and this was one of its strongest moments. Such a shame these films were never allowed to add up to anything, because I believe most of them were great.

I was surprised to find a lot of Harley Quinn fans disliked this scene, but in my opinion this is the most badass, fun, and accurate to the character action sequence I've ever seen. She was literally just used as a sex symbol and had no interesting character development in Suicide Squad 2016, but this truly felt like Margot mastered the persona and insanity of Harleen Quinzel from the comics. And for those who complained about the cartoony flowers and birds as she was killing people... yeah this is kind of what I had in mind for what goes down in Harley's brain as she is committing heinous acts in most media. There's a reason she was able to pull off everything so flawlessly here- she learned from the clown prince of crime. She's a heavily damaged individual- a genius psychiatrist and genuinely cares about individuals she sees good in- but she's delusional to an extreme extent, brought about mainly from the abuse and torment she suffered under the Joker's mental manipulation

I feel like this scene is for people who were questioning why Harley is on a team of super powered villains considering she's technically a normal person. It's like, "oh, this is why she's here." The flowers and birds are also a MUCH better way of portraying why the violence is so alluring for Harley. In Suicide Squad, it was just neon colors and flashing lights with crappy hip hop music to try and make it seem "cool." Here it actually makes sense with Harley's childlike mind. Like, "oh wait, this actually looks fun."

While this scene is absolutely fantastic, truly eliciting the "shock and awe" response one would desire to have from such a sequence, there is no blood on Harley's javelin. Perhaps that's intentional, like there being no blood on Wolverine's claws, but it is strange and noticeable when one zeroes in on the scene. Realistically, it's bottom end would be somewhat drenched and dripping with blood. Harley could then wipe the blood off on her red dress before going outside. Just something to ponder regarding this scene.

I just like how James Gunn, whilst Harley is clearly moved on from the Joker, hasn’t moved on from “unaliving” people and being a villain, which is kinda what the qualifies for being in The Squad to begin with…most modern day DC Comics (comics!) try to make her so anti-heroine she’s basically a member of the batfamily and it has annoyed me endlessly…to the point of giving THE JOKER of all people out of character traits so we can feel even more sympathy for her than a general reader already does with her and him (do not get me started on New 52 Harley I-) so I enjoyed seeing Gunn balance those two very important aspects of her character that were practically not displayed enough on either spectrum in her previous two live action iterations 🙃 I hope against hope Margot comes back as Harley in the DCU ❤️ Always phenomenal!
