To each his own and I'm one of the biggest Sportster fans in the world. Still own 3 of my XR1200's and love the things. Your exhaust, simply put, is a death sentence for you cylinder heads and exhaust valves. NO back-pressure.

@Sierra117_callsign2 жыл бұрын
Ok so no...1st...you can tune a bike to account for virtually any type of exhaust setup. 2. The word you were looking for is scavenging not back pressure. The quicker and more efficiently you can vacate exhaust, the more power you will make. If your engine is fighting to move exhaust gases, it is losing power, "back pressure" is bad for power.. Now for torque, similar to power, torque is maximized with exhaust scavenging and pipe diameter (think of velocity). If back pressure were a good thing cars would make less power when you removed the cats or took off the exhaust. The more bends and turns an exhaust has, the less effective it is at making power. Flow, velocity and scavenging are all that matter. The exhaust system that maximizes those 3 makes the most power, period. Now im not saying that setup is "the best" set up, nor would I want to ride with exhaust gases hitting my legs/feet. But that system probably does make the most power.
@frankcastle52942 жыл бұрын
@@Sierra117_callsign LOL. All this fluffy jibberish and you never even mentioned exhaust valves and guides...which rely on a modicum of back-pressure to even survive. Has absolutely nothing to do with exhaust scavenging....Airflow Einstein.

I have never owned a Harley, but I love their engine sound. Low low growl is what a motorcycle is supposed to sound like in my opinion. I've owned Honda's, Triumph's, and BMW's. It's only a matter of time until I find a Harley in my garage.
