Great work Del and Penny. The video content and quality on this channel is unmatched anywhere. Great tips on the removal of stubborn allen head screws. I'm embarrassed to say I was unfamiliar with red rubber grease. I figured it was silicone but did a little googling and see it is vegetable based. It's impossible to watch a DG video without learning something new. So much appreciated. God bless and stay well always my friends. ❤👍👍

Great video Del. Always love your tips. I will remember the one about the rusted screw and the rubber for the headlamp. Didn't know that the red rubber grease would do that to old rubber if you let it sit for a while. Awesome job Del.

Yes indeed buddy, the rubber grease is vegetable based (castor), so does no harm and will most certainly soften up and extend the life of old obsolete parts... !

Great tip using the red rubber grease to restore hardened rubber. I know you get fantastic finishes out of a rattle can but one tip i learned was to take the spray nozzle off and run hot tap water over the top of the can for around 5 mins. It increases the pressure in the can and thins the paint so it comes out in a finer mist. You don't end up using as much and always and I mean always get a flawless finish. It really surprised me when I first tried it as I could never get a finish as good as I would of liked. Everytime now it's like a professional done it lol. Anyway give it a try sometime and see what you think

Hi Nick, we always try with every one of the projects to do a final road ride episode and a walk round at a beautiful local church, just to celebrate the project finish and show everybody away from the busyness of the garage, what the bike looks like in the day light, it's a little way off yet, but it's a firm plan as long as it's not snowing or thick salt on the roads! Well done, as always, Del. I really like that you did the body filler on such a small part, something that very few people would go to the trouble to do. I am totally with you... those are the small details that add up to a spectacular finished product. You don't have to have perfect parts, just do your very best with the parts that you have, and you know exactly what you have. Now, you have pride in the back of a speedometer that you would have cared nothing at all about, if it was factory new when you got it. To me, that's what this channel is all about... The value of doing your very best on whatever you put your hands on. Nothing like that feeling of "I did that". My guess is, those who automatically hit "dislike" without even watching the videos do so out of their own bad feelings about their own not-so-successful approach of "good enough", when what they really mean is "too much trouble for me", so they have no clue of the satisfaction of a job well done... Keep 'em comin', Delboy :)

Sure thing buddy, you take very care possible to keep as much debris as you can out of the blast media when you see the cost of replacing it, glass beads are just about the best for what I do, but not cheap so this is the best way! Have a great week too.

Hey there buddy, thanks for your kind words, not sure about the car bumpers, they're generally a hard plastic and I've heard all manner of remedies for that from boot polish to baby oil... (which I use on the wheel arches of my Land Rover!), and the tips of the MiL's horns....!

That’s very kind of you to attend to the Mil’s horns so caringly. I just don’t have the time. I generally just use the hedge clippers but they sure do take a beating each time.. (the hedge clippers I mean!)

You can revive rounded over Allen keys by touching the ends up on a grinder. If you run out of nitromors, a strong caustic soda solution with added wallpaper paste can work.
