Very helpful video. I watched this while changing mine yesterday and now it is SO much quieter.

Excellent video which gave me guidance and ability to do it myself. I did have to cut my first fan off but I simply cut the collar with a dremmel tool 3 years ago to replace the blades. (11 year old stove). Now time to replace unit as bearings getting noisy. Thanks again. .

Great video first of all. I have a question before I go ahead. We bought a 30 year old house with a Harman stove in it. It is quite loud on startup but then that noise goes away after it gets heated up. From there on it's not to loud. Just at startup it sounds like theres a badger locked inside the stove. Is this the motor that would be noisy at the start of the ignition? Theres so many motors and fans back there...
@5MinuteFixit Жыл бұрын
I would say it is most likely the auger/auger motor. Search KZbin for harman auger squeal and see if that is what noise your stove is making. Hopefully this helps, thank you for watching!

@@5MinuteFixit thank you! I wouldn't call it a squeal more if a loud vibrational grrrrrrrrr. Then after it gets up to temp it's stops.

@@andywalsh2980 hmmm that's tough to tell it could be the combustion motor or the combustion fan possibly hitting the inside of stove (check that its not this first)

I have a problem with the Allen screw being stripped and cannot get the fan off. Any suggestions to proceed from here?
@ashsampson Жыл бұрын
What would you suggest if the screw for the exhaust fan stripped instead of loosening!
@5MinuteFixit Жыл бұрын
See if there is a what to cut it off from the back side because it is not screwed into the stove itself but rather the nut that holds the fan on. It should fall right out once cut. Hopefully this helps! Thank you for watching and please consider giving the video a thumbs up and subscribing if you haven’t already! Thank you!

I had a service person replace my blower motor fan on a 52i. It now has a slight noise, not tin-nny, but I can hear the motor spinning. Any idea what might cause that? and any way to make it be virtually silent, like the old original one was?
@5MinuteFixit Жыл бұрын
The noise may go away some after it breaks in a little or you can add a bit of oil to the bearings. If it is new however it should need oil.

Like how the fan blade just fell off. I had to cut mine off. For all the people on here asking how to get it off. Remove the 3 bolts and nuts. Pull the motor away in the back and use a sawzall to cut the shaft. Its not rocket science people.

Good video, it seems like it would be easier if they just put a quick disconnect on the motor itself for the wires.
@5MinuteFixit Жыл бұрын
I agree that would be easier, but I wonder if they do that so it makes it harder for the motor to be user replaceable. Thank you for watching and please consider giving the video a thumbs up if you haven’t already! Thank you!

At the point of using the Allen wrench, it seems to be machine tight. I can’t get it to budge even with a cheater bar which, I feel I shouldn’t have to do. 😩 Any ideas?
@5MinuteFixit2 жыл бұрын
If you can I would put on some penetrating oil and let it sit overnight and give it another try. If that doesn’t work you may have to cut the shaft and fan blade off and replace the fan blade with a new one. Hopefully this helps, thank you for watching. Check back in and let us know if you get it off!

I know this is waaaay too late, but I tried everything to get mine off. I use penetrating oil, I used a torch... No luck. I had to get my Dremel, and cut the shaft off..
