Seriously, the reactions to BG3 winning GOTY have been shocking, to say the least. You have people absolutely being "surprised" that a game which isn't some playable movie or holds your hand the whole way, would receive rave reviews from both critics and gamers. Then, you have those claiming that BG3 "came out of nowhere" despite the fact that it was being talked about EVERYWHERE during it's launch month, still has a huge player count at this very moment and over 400,000 reviews on Steam rating it Positive. And of course, there's those who claim TGA was rigged. Well, if that's the case, why did the AA studio win (Larian) and not Nintendo or Insomniac?

BG3 certainly took a lot of blood, sweat, and tears to make. There is no question about that. What the Zelda TotK team achieved though is mind blowing. It's ironic that by releasing such complexity in a finished state with no major bugs, glitches, or crashes that people now underestimate just how insanely difficult and ambitious their goals were. No other game this year, or any other year has ever been as ambitious and daring as TotK. It is so hard to even begin to convey to the average consumer how so much of what TotK does could have ended so disastrously and in so many ways. No other game was more deserving of winning the goty then Zelda TotK. Not even BG3, though it too had its' own set of challenges. The fact that so much of it is simplified into mere dice rolls and dialogue choice tracking is infinitely easier then real time interaction and so many different physic systems and rules working in harmony with one another in TotK.

Last I checked Nintendo didn't make a CRPG this year, oh wait he thinks Fire Emblem Engage was a better game. Which again isn't even a CRPG just a JRPG, with the most anime infused characters you will ever see. And you know I would almost be willing to go, ok so TOTK was your game of the year (it isn't according to his "Mario's" he claimed that Mario Wonder was his favourite game this year), and you simply don't like BG3 because it isn't for you. The issue is he has gone on record multiple times, saying "I've never played BG3, and I've never looked into it." Well then how the hell can you say it is bad!? Ergh this is the issue with fanboys the are so dense. Mind you one of his comments on the Geoff should off himself video claimed the show was rigged, and when I pointed out that Larion wouldn't have done it as they are a much smaller company and wouldn't be able to outbid Nintendo, Sony, Capcom etc. He replied with "The awards were clearly rigged as Nintendo didn't win everything." He then goes on to call me a loser and talk to another coworker about how I have no taste in story driven games. Only to realize moments later that the guy he was talking to instead of me couldn't care less about story driven games. The look on his face when we told him that was almost as priceless as Harman's reaction to Baldur's Gate 3 winning GotY.

I mean, you are objectively wrong about The Last of Us II being a bad game.. you could say you didn't like it, but everything from its mechanics, graphics, sound design, etc are top notch
@ethatsgoodwine58884 ай бұрын
@@DETRACT0RD00MAnd? If the game has an unenjoyable and boring story then it’s still a sour experience no matter what. Same thing with Spider-Man Miles Morales. It didn’t matter how good the gameplay and mechanics were, the story was so uninteresting and predictable that it felt difficult to even enjoy the game. It’s completely fair to say that the story of a game is enough to make it a bad game because the story’s basically the most important part that ties the whole experience together.

never played Baldur's gate and obviously love Zelda, but credit where credit is due I''ve only heard praise about Baldur's gate so I can't argue it's win, and when he said Elden ring would lose to anything Nintendo first party I laughed because I would honestly pick Elden ring over Zelda

When I was little I only had a PS2. Instead of constantly obsessing over how great the PS2 was, I was constantly wishing I could afford other consoles to try different games (And I still enjoyed the games I did play on PS2). This whole brand loyalty thing just never clicked with me, and I am SO glad I avoided this sort of mentality.

Harman needs to put down his Nintendo Switch, get out of his parents' basement, and go get some exercise. His.stomach is so fat, it's starting to stretch out his shirt.

Now I'm a Nintendo Gamer, and I love TotK and have never played BG3. But it was very much deserving of Game of the Year, especially with the salt in generated from Game Devs complaining that BG3 "raises the bar too much" No it didn't, its a good game, but if not trying to strangle your customer's wallet for every single penny is "raising the bar too high" then this industry is doomed if developers think thats too much to ask for

everyone knows that a nintendo game winning best family game is not surprising everyone knows for the most part nintendo will win best family game it is the unofficial nintendo award. Harmon will definitely watch next year especially if a nintendo game will is nominated

I find it funny how this guy is blaming Geoff Keighley for snubbing TOTK, when the GOTY Award is voted for by global games media organisations and the game awards have no say in the winner. (Alanha Pearce educated me on this!)

Like, I can understand being upset that a game you loved didn't win an award you think it deserved. I can even understand dismissing an award show if you think it was sufficiently off with it's picks, based on what you liked. The thing I straight up can't comprehend is that anyone would center their entire goddamn personality around an international corporation that literally only exist to sell you shit to make it's executives richer, to the point where the largest indie game ever and possibly the best RPG ever made is somehow worthless cause it wasn't made by the megacorp you simp for.
