Greg, you're a real expert, but regarding keeping harps clean, I have some very simple advice: Unless your oral cavity is clean, always brush your teeth before you play! I've had most of my harps for about 6 or 7 years, and they're still quite clean. Sometimes I pick out grit from the holes with a toothpick or Q-Tip, but that's it. I never run my harps under water; I'd be afraid to ruin 'em, especially the wood!

Hi, the reason for this has to do with the chords. Since you are starting out with the harp I´d like to recommend to you Steve Baker´s Harp Handbook. Hope you can find it. It´s a very fine book about all things harmonica. All the best to you, Jóhannes, Reykjavík, Iceland

I have a honer blues harp C MS and the notes are the same for #2 draw and #3 blow. I was told by the salesman at the Guitar Center that that was normal but it doesn't seem to make sense to me. If this is not the case how would I correct that?

Thanks man, I freaked out when I accidentally de-adjusted one of the reeds. My adjustment based on your video wasn't perfect, but I'll get there.

Great video, I wish it was available in better quality though, it's hard to see what you're doing to the harp in 240p

Good point... My bad. There is a sweet spot in the gapping of each reed. The smaller the gap the more responsive the reed will be to a point. However, if it is too small, the reed will choke up. The sweet spot is different for different players.. I should have covered that, but the fact is I guess some reeds need to have the gap widened and some narrowed ..depending... Thx for bringing that up..

Hello... i have a problem. I bought a Hohner set of harmonicas... some of them are with some air issue. I play it, but some holes seem to dissipate air... is there anything i could do? thank you!

The salesman at GC is correct. In standard Richter tuning the 2 draw and 3 blow are the same.

(You definitely need a better video camera - It seems that the images are slightly out of focus/blurred, (perhaps a matter of video image/display resolution disparity) GREAT INFO!!!! Please tell us what sorts of "adjustments" you find most helpful - (are your harps all in standard "diatonic" tuning, or some other scale "set-ups"?!.... THANKS, VERY MUCH!!!!
