I seriously cant begin to explain how nice it is to see such a happy person who loves life so much teach such a beautiful instrument. You exude such wonderful and inspiring passion. You are an inspiration to us all. Your personality is truly a gift from the universe! The millions of lives that you touch are motivated to not only live life as happily and calmly as you do but to continue to play the harmonica and stay positive and optimistic! Thank you for all of the work you have put in! You are a great human and role model! Thanks again!

Okay, I took the plunge and bought a C Harmonica and have been watching your videos! I'm not sure who is more "entertaining" in you videos, you JP or your many students who are all so focused and fun to watch as you teach. I think I'm going to move to Hawaii!! Anyway, wanted to say thank you so much for your Toodle-Ta lessons. My goal is to play some Bob Dylan solo stuff while performing and you inspired me. Thanks JP!

On the second line, -1 2 -2 -2 feels better than -1 2 3 3 (if that makes sense). Granted, the two draw is trickier than the three blow but once I got it down, it made this much smoother for me to play. Just my 2¢. Thanks for the lesson.

This is the best explanation I have ever heard! You are amazing! I am a beginner, was very confused by everyone that tried to teach me that technique, so I just played the numbers. You don't have the tabs to Hank, Jr.'s song The Blues Man, do you? I have tried so hard to find it and still coming up empty handed. Keep up the posts!
Fantastic teacher, very helpful.. All round good video : D

HI. Thank you so much for posting this. I really enjoy it. I have a question and I am hoping you can answer. The "Toodle" has two syllables, and you can clearly hear that when you play "Toodle" with the inflection change. So my question is when you are blowing into the harmonica for toddle, how are you properly blowing to get the right sound? I hope my question makes sense, if not I can try again, Thanks!
@TheNotoriousVandal10 жыл бұрын
hey there, a long time I had the same problem, and the key to your question is probably: Bending! If you don't know what it is or how its done, just search for tutorials and with this youre really gettin into blues harp

Im having confusion on your -ta toodlle -ta in correlation with -4 4 -4 3. I read the tab as draw, blow, draw blow and if im not mistaken you're saying draw, blow, blow, draw

Very good class! I have a question about the second line. Do you present us the sequence -1, 2, 3, 3 in which case could you use the sequence -1, 2, -2, -2? Thank you very much in advance. Hugs from Brazil.
@Harmonicacom3 жыл бұрын
Yes, correct. You could always substitute 3 for -2 and vice versa. Thanks for watching!
@Ivy_10573 жыл бұрын
Thank you for this nice explanation. I am a beginner. This -Ta Toodle -Ta helps me with the rhythm. I have a problem with that. Already’ve got a metronome, but don’t know how to use it. How should i set it for this particular lesson?
@Harmonicacom3 жыл бұрын
Hey Inessa - start at 60 BPM, and if it has any other kind of settings, choose quarter notes, and 4/4 time. See how that feels. Hope that helps! Aloha, Luke

Uh, kind of an important point here, after the first minute or so, the camera cut of the top the screen so we couldn't see what you were pointed at, which made your pointing nothing but distracting.
