When McCartney came out in 1970 it was a commercial success going to #1 on the Billboard charts but it also signaled the end of the Beatles. Oddly enough no singles were released off the album but radio Stations zeroed in on Maybe I’m Amazed and that became the most famous song on the album. The 2nd most popular song on it was probably Every Night. Maybe I’m amazed would later be released as a single but it being a live version recorded from Paul’s “Wings Over America” tour. It made the top 10 and it became one of two live songs he recorded to make the top 10 with the other being Coming Up in 1980.

This is really a fantastic performance. Paul’s voice and guitar are such a pleasure to hear. Additionally, I have to say that I greatly appreciated the lyrics in Portuguese. It’s a beautiful song in any language, for sure. Many thanks, Daniel, for your sublime request, and to Harri for your reaction.

This was off the first mtv unplugged show that was totally acoustic 1:53 . All of the previous unplugged shows had at least a few instruments plugged in. Way to go Paul. 🥰

From Paul's debut solo album from 1970, " Mc Cartney", this may be one of Paul's greatest solo accomplishments. Originally written while The Beatles were still together,it was going to be on " Let It Be" but wasn't completed until 2 years later in Greece. The instrumentation is brillant, typical of a Mccartney masterpiece and the vocals and harmonies are so Beatlesque. ❤❤ Never released as a single Handsome Harri, great reaction.❤❤ Beautiful unplugged pick Daniel👏👏 Cheers from Canada ❤❤🇨🇦🇨🇦

His band consisted of Paul "Wix" Wickens who has played with many acts including Bob Dylan, Hamish Stuart who was with the "Average White Band", on the drums Blair Cunningham who played with Tina Turner, and Mick Jagger, and Robbie Mcintosh who was in "The Pretenders", and of course the late Linda McCartney. 1:26 A great lineup. 🙃 He was actually not quite 50 but looked pretty damn good for his late 40's.

The part near 4:28 reminds me of the Beatles song Carry that Weight. Love it Daniel. Thanks Harri.

Paul McCartney played ALL the instruments on his first solo album. It went to #1 in 1970.❤

In the US pretty sure this wasn't a single, but it's pure McCartney. If the first time I heard this was by another artist, I'd still know it was a Paul song.

Harri, you simply MUST check out Phoebe Snow's 1978 cover of this .. She absolutely knocks it out of the park ! .. It was her biggest hit ( at No.22 ) here in Australia, and is easily my favourite song by her .. She is just so melodic and soulful in her delivery .. Cheers, Wayne

There were no singles released from the McCartney album. Even Maybe I'm Amazed wasn't a single until the live version was released as a single in 1977.

This sounds a whole lot different with a full band. A strum along. He did it earlier in 1979 with Wings. It was a more Rocking version, closer to the studio track. McCartney is my second favorite Paul album, after Band on the Run. He uses his deep, bassy, Lady Madonna voice on just about every song.

You should check out that album Harri, it's interesting as Sir Paul plays all instruments, including a faster version of this one. It overall has a kind of fly on the wall quality, feeling like youre hearing songs and ideas in mid-development before the polished version hits the stores...

Disappointed Macca slowed this one down. Prefer the faster, jaunty tempo of original recording.

He doesn't do a very good job here, or maybe it's the recording. The same song on the album is much better, an unusual occurrence.
