I'm a hair stylist. And you have some very cool and edgy techniques , that us stylists go to seminars to learn. You have a lovely way of expressing and teaching these very important methods of styling and cutting your hair. I have only a handful of girls that could create the movement that is sooooo important not only when styling , but when cutting hair. Bravo to you for taking the time to blow dry and hot Toronto your hair before you. It it. So many time I have seen coworkers , cut the bangs when their wet and they spring up and look horrible because they cut them straight a across, causing a blunt look. Don't even get me started because if the hair is curly , it's liable to spring up an inch or two depending on the amount of curl ....... Just wanted to say how awesome you are at styling hair, keep on rockin it
@MizzBizz493 жыл бұрын
I was wondering whether she chose the scissors for this technique because from what I can tell, she has rather fine hair. A straight edge razor could give the choppy/wispy look but it does do a number on fine hair sometimes. I too have been a hairdresser for over 42 years and even though I don't work in a salon anymore, I still try to keep up on this kind of stuff. Thanks for the video!
@paulawilliamson6373 жыл бұрын
@@MizzBizz49 it’s something that you have to bi careful with, because if your client doesn’t style her hair with a good hair product that makes her look and act like thicker hair, also uses a blow dryer and perhaps a flat iron to achieve the desired look than the haircut will look choppy and it will definitely thin her hair. We used to use our straight razors for layering and shaving men, lol. It can be useful to twist the bangs into small sections and run your straight razor ever so lightly against the hair while starting about half way on the bang leghorn. Make sure your bangs are at least down too the bridge of your nose, for best results. Gives texture and bounce, but remember that you have to STYLE them. All the great looking hair, comes from a lot of hard work and it’s also due to the new products that are made now. The drugstore products are definitely even better than what we used to sell in our salons, like Joico , Paul Mitchell, ect. Also, new laws allow us to too shop 20% off at beauty supply houses, just show them your license, you don’t even have had too keep up with your dues.

I honestly hate how often I've heard stylists say to do it wet, I've done it a couple times(it didn't make a huge difference when I did, I cut them kind of long at the time). I've gotten into arguments over it because for them it's the easiest way to do it since the hair will straighten or can be pulled straight
@hettiegrubbs2 жыл бұрын
Best bang tutorial I’ve seen for contemporary, piecey bangs. 1. Take time prepping your hair, decide exactly where you want the bangs, side part, middle part, etc. 2. Flat iron your hair in small sections to get out all the kinks 3. Use sharp hair cutting scissors. 4. Take your time and trim small sections of hair holding the hair close to your face so the length is precise. 5. Cut with the scissors pointing down using small motions with the blades. It seems like being very intentional, calm and confident is the key to cutting flattering and functional bangs. These bangs look better and were cut with more precision than what my hair dresser does. Thanks for sharing such a great method!

I liked watching your Technique, and Ive been cutting my own hair since I was in my teens. I learned this technique from a hair dresser. You can get the same wispy bangs without all the tedious cutting that you were doing. All you do is... Section what hair you want as bangs, Then Pull "All" of your bang hair down in front of your face, and cut across evenly across at the length you want it. Then taking that same hair,... Pull it strait up toward the Ceiling, on top of your head , then cut it evenly across again. Now when It falls down, it will be Featherd or Wispy as you call it. it will have uneven layers.

great simple video on cutting wispy bangs, i think with THICKER hair it's all about taking less hair at a time and being very slow with cutting sections, but holding the sheers down is key!

Best demonstration I’ve found on KZbin!! Not had my hair with bangs/full fringe in 2 decades but I’ll be doing it in about an hour, fingers crossed

I enjoyed watching you. My fabulous hairdresser does this too. We're so busy talking that I don't watch her so seeing this video and watching you step by step is a huge help. I cut my bangs in between appointments and it's about that time. I don't have a lot of hair. It's baby fine and is thinning at the crown. Still, I'm going to give this a try. Thanks! Great Video and well instructed for even the Senior's like me trying to get my bangs right from bad hairdressers with little skill. I have had 8 bad hairdressers, in the last several years. BUT, Thank you, this WORKED. And I learned finally how to flat iron my bangs for the lift, and body my hair needed. I have short hair, and it's fine hair but a lot per square inch.

Awesome "Slicing" technique. I dry cut too, then u know exactly where your bangs will be. I have curly hair and hair dressers dont realize how much it shrinks when wet and over cut! Also the straight across cut makes me look like an 80s rocker chic with a "sausage roll"😂

Love all the disclaimers about NOT cutting your own bangs, lol. Funny story. Many moons ago, one of my clients brought her 9 year old son in and the first thing out of her mouth was “can you fix it, can you fix it?” His hair was bright ginger in color and he’d been complaining to his Mom about getting a hair cut. Deciding to take matters into his own hands,he grabbed a set of clippers, (you know where this is going, right) and shaved his head right down the middle from forehead to crown. Took me a long time to fix it, but I guess he taught her a lesson. He didn’t like his hair long, which was unusual for the 70’s, but he wasn’t having it even if all his friends had long hair. I did my best, and Mom insisted on not shaving it all the way down, which was my first solution, lol. It was a challenge in my career as a stylist that I’ll never forget. Thank you for sharing.
